I mean, based upon their behaviour in the last decade, I am very dubious about the extent to which the average centrist meaningfully believes in democracy, beyond a very shallow, superficial definition, let alone in “gentleness”.

My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area.

A significant amount of safety research has existed for decades on Human Machine Interfaces proving exactly this. It's exhausting to watch money and effort wasted in a tech hype cycle to constantly undo and redo what we already know in safety engineering.
Amazingly, reaction times using screens while driving are worse than being drunk or high—no wonder 90 percent of drivers hate using touchscreens in cars. Finally the auto industry is coming to its senses.

Det är så roligt att tänka sig någon 14-årig svensk kille som kollat på Charlie Kirk och får för sig att han ska gå i kyrkan men den enda församlingen där han bor är svenskkyrklig och han måste lyssna på en lesbisk kvinnopräst som pratar om kärlek och försoning.

It will forever crack me up that alpha male manly men only want like, a mastiff (who'll sleep a lot & maybe viciously attack a leaf) or a pitbull (who'll wigglebutt until they get all the pets). But not a girly dog like a Chihuahua who will eat your face off if you walk near them.

Sciences like anthropology are so valuable because they provide refutations to "this is the way it always was, and thus the way it has to be" type assertions. Its very different to the science I do, but perhaps even more valuable.
honestly something i'm noticing is that whenever a midwit hack wants to make an empirical claim about "the way humanity is" without reading any social science they always just go to primatology
