Have you written your Senator.about protecting #SNAP and #Medicaid? This vote could be this week!

This is not a partisan issue.
It’s a moral emergency!

The thing about the Khalil case is that it's very very good that he's free now but you can't have it take three months between "the government kidnaps you off the street for no basis reason whatsoever" and "a judge makes them let you go." You just can't.

You want to talk about dangerous ideologies? Start with white Christian nationalism. The most violent movements in American history have all wrapped themselves in God, guns, and the flag.

They have made the world living hell for no reason whatsoever. People will ask why this happened in a decade and there will be tremendous effort to make it more complicated than “they were evil, stupid, and bored”

Years ago, after the Cambridge Analytica scandal, I interviewed a former fb employee, and I remember her continually emphasizing that these tech bros weren't evil geniuses, but were, in fact, dangerous because they were utterly clueless, totally reckless, and had too much power.

The US DOT says it's planning to prioritize areas with high marriage & high birth rates for funding.

Our new analysis @urbaninstitute.bsky.social shows this would disproportionately fund:
—Communities with a higher white resident share
—Low-density areas
—High-income areas
—Car-dependent areas
DOT’s Plan to Distribute Funding by Birth and Marriage Rates Would Leave Communities Most In Need Behind
If enacted, the new US Department of Transportation memo would prioritize funding to whiter, higher-income, more car-dependent areas over communities of color and people who walk, bike, or take public...

"Israel Just Killed a Pregnant Palestinian Woman – And Western Media Doesn’t Care"

My latest piece for Zeteo on the ongoing, brazen and shameful double standards in our media coverage of death and suffering in the Middle East.

Israel Just Killed a Pregnant Palestinian Woman – And Western Media Doesn’t Care
How many Palestinian women and children have to be killed in the occupied West Bank before anyone in the US or UK gives a damn?

JD Vance - If you believe any of the multiple federal courts that have ruled against you so far are exceeding their statutory or Constitutional authority, your recourse is to appeal. You don’t get to rage-quit the Republic just because you are losing. That’s tyranny.

It’s important to remember that the broligarchy believes in the entire privatization of government services (which, of course, they will provide), overseen by a “CEO,” i.e., dictator. So the idea is you won’t pay taxes, you will pay them. Eventually. That’s where they are headed
A couple of (actually serious) thought-experiment questions on where we are and where we’re going:

If a bunch of sociopaths are destroying the federal government from within, why should we pay federal taxes?

And if they succeed, who’s going to make us pay those taxes?

My instinct is to make the case that USAID is extremely good, actually. But I feel like it’s more important to say, “What is happening is antagonistic to the foundational document of the nation.”
