A few years back, our local railway museum had a booth at a local con, and I picked these up with the intention of sending them to you. It's two pins and a magnet. Would you like them?

I think there's something comforting for liberals in the idea that if only the media would cover a given story, then all the things that they wish were not happening would stop happening. It just doesn't work that way. Media coverage can spur folks to action but it can't take action on its own.
just my occasional friendly reminder that when people on here yell "why isn't the media covering (insert story here)???", it's worth at least a quick look at whether the media is in fact covering that story

I don't know who needs to hear this,

but "scientists don't know everything and have been wrong before"

does not mean that a random-ass conspiracy theory with no evidence

should be given the same respect as the overwhelming weight of scientific evidence and expert consensus.

Is it Halloween yet? I know, I know it’s months away but I’m missing the spooky season a bit, so how about I share some Halloween themed art! This gal is the literal personification of Halloween night. Maybe I’ll throw a horror movie on the TV tonight 🖤

Let’s hope these guardrails are enough to minimize political interference in government climate and environmental research. 🤞

With the convicted felon Donald Trump returning to office, environmental data face threats, including deletion and budget cuts. People are scrambling to archive and update crucial datasets to ensure access, but concerns remain about the impact of limited access on environmental research and policy.

Exhausted and dehydrated, I slowly walk the last few steps. “This has to be it,” I think to myself. Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes and turn the handle, whispering a little prayer as I step through. I open my eyes and the last trickle of hope leaks away. I am still in IKEA.

It can be straight-up not worth it for some disabled people to work.

For instance, in order to receive some benefits, you either need to be destitute or have a well-paying job.

It is difficult when the benefits you would receive by not working far outweigh the benefits an OK-paying job provides.

Will is fundamentally correct about this and, while I'm not sure I'd put it in such dramatic terms, I've come to the same basic conclusion he has about it. I would add a few things though. 🧵
Yes! I feel like I’m going crazy when I think about this. We had years of tepid growth as Obama-era policymakers consistently failed to prioritize employment post-crash. The left howled about it. Then Biden adopted the opposite approach, it was a smashing success… and the left SAVAGED him for it.
Deep irony in that largest left-liberal critique of Obama (which was accurate) was that he avoided deficits and inflation at the cost of massive unemployment. Biden's people pushed full employment and got some inflation and the left gave him no credit for employment and savaged him for inflation.

Great white sharks can jump higher than the average house. This is because of powerful muscles, a sleek fusiform shape, and the fact that most houses cannot jump.
