12YO girl signed up to do “stand up comedy” at the talent show. 13YO boy decided to heckle her. Teacher started to tell the boy to leave her alone, but the 12YO comedian said “no, no, let him go, this is the closest he’s ever going to get to having a conversation with a girl.”

One page of Archimedes Palimpsest, On Floating Bodies. It despicts an opened ancient manuscript with two facing pages. The parchment is heavily aged, displaying a mottled yellowish-brown, golden-tan coloration with significant staining, discoloration, and deterioration throughout. The edges are darkened and worn, indicating centuries of age and handling. This is a palimpsest, meaning the parchment was recycled—the original text was partially scraped off and written over with new content. You can see layers of text at different angles and in different states of visibility, which is characteristic of such manuscripts. The underlying Archimedes text runs in one direction, while later overwritten religious texts (Byzantine prayer book) run perpendicular to it. The pages contain dense columns of Greek text written in dark brown or black ink. On the left page, there are visible geometric diagrams—line drawings showing mathematical figures and proofs typical of Archimedes' work on geometry and physics. A photo to expand on Emily’s photo in more detail, showing the full display of one of the many amazing sets of furniture at the Czech Cubism exhibition. All the textiles (some reproduced, some original) in this museum were just fantastic to the point where I need a deep dive on just those.
The same couch Emily’s post describes but shown to the bottom right of frame rather than center; to its left, a matching upholstered chair, arms and legs angled. Above, an abstract and oddly angled chandelier made of a golden metal, reminiscent of origami shapes almost, draped in little shiny crystals. Behind the chair, an exhibition poster (I think?) (it’s written in Czech and I haven’t translated it yet) featuring beautiful angled shapes and leafy textures in black and red. Behind the couch is a beautiful reproduction of some textile work that I didn’t catch details on, red and gold over black, mostly swirly and botanical, in beautiful contrast to all the big bold crystalline angles of the furniture.
