Married to Richard, he/him, gay, Doctor Who fan, still European, Liberal Democrat, mostly ill, burnt-out firebrand (but gets by online with the odd spark).
Instead of the British knee-jerk ‘It’s not to my personal taste – it should be banned!’
Make the basic legal principle that ‘victimless crimes’ should be just *not be crimes* where people are just doing their own thing
(And, if any exceptions, precise and limited)
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Ah, mid-November, when Christmas is still far enough away to be mistaken for a gaily-dressed friend waving at you in the distance, just before you realise it’s a psychopath in a clown suit wielding a chainsaw and running towards you at high speed.

Reminds me of when I ‘saved money’ by getting a huge stack of chocolate that ‘would last’ and put it in a box, inside a box, in a bag, on a high shelf so I couldn’t just absentmindedly fill my mouth
Within days I could get to it in 10 seconds, blindfold
Oh god, this dog

*wheezes*

this

*wheezes*

THIS DOG

*dies laughing*

This dog just figured out how to open a clippable food container

*snorts*

and ate all the treats inside

*expires*

What is truly pathetic about Labour is that this is all they have got. They have failed so spectacularly already, despite a whacking great majority, to even attempt to govern positively that all they have is punching down on marginalised groups and saying "oh but Reform will be worse".

Usually it’s the negative rounds I find a bit of a challenge, loving all Doctor Who and that, but confession: I didn’t envy them having to pick some ‘bests’ out of these four.
But hooray for their enthusiasm (especially in the swimwear round)!
Two stories here I just don’t think are up to much, but…
‼️ NEW EPISODE ‼️
Enjoy the brilliance of @markdodyk.bsky.social & @glantern7.bsky.social exploring Death To The Daleks, Invasion of Time, Sontaran Stratagem/Poison Sky & Name of the Doctor.

Why is Mark fluttering his eyelashes? Why is the Gay Mafia after Andrew?

OTD 1988: Left To My Own Devices
I can’t do better for the day than Re-Skeet the Pod Boys!
One of my fave PSB songs and checking (my most-played).
I’ve never been co-ordinated enough to dance, but it’s the only song where as I’m walking along one point makes me instinctively do a little twirl.
“Epic” 🎻 — Trevor Horn on Devices! It was a thrill to meet him this week ❤️ & share our love for his PSB productions. Now our own “epic” 30th episode: a countdown of 30 PSB songs, from obscure gems 🤓 to out-and-out classics 🎶.

Brief gap in the rain
I should be listening to more of the audiobook I started yesterday (inspired, inevitably, by podcasts on it)
But five – five! – podcasts I want to listen to dropped this morning, so…
Which is it!
Oops, have to wipe screen again (steady) and put this out of the rain again

This is for all the kids who watch BBC Four!
(I assume?)
Fourth Doctor omnibus repeats were incredibly thrilling when I was little. Not quite so much now I’m much older and revisited on Blu-ray.
But, hey, I’m still excited for this!
#DoctorWho In An Exciting Adventure With The Sea Devils is getting a 'special re-edited' repeat on Sunday 7th December at 7pm on BBC Four.

The 90-minute 'blockbuster special' (we just called them omnibuses in my day) will feature new sound design by Mark Ayres and additional music by Lorne Balfe.

I applied for diagnosis as autistic in 2015, to get reasonable adjustments at work (the only reason I would recommend diagnosis, incidentally -- self-diagnosis is valid). I finally got diagnosed in 2019, 3 1/2 years after quitting work in mental health crisis due to lack of reasonable adjustments...
These fights are *normal* to get the help people need.

No one is getting diagnosed without similar horror stories.

So when I hear about over diagnosis?

These are the children I think of:
A family I know just got an autism diagnosis for their son. It came after a four year wait that itself came after years of fighting to even get on the list.

I don't know how the people in charge of this country sleep at night.
