I wouldn’t want to remove the ambiguity of the original ending, so I’d have the sequel set 100s of years later, with the only link to the 1982 film being a mention of “the Antarctica incident, and we all know how THAT turned out” and it’s never referred to again

Each TV season will have 11 episodes numbered 2 through 12, and the algorithm shows you a random episode each time. All the best stuff happens in episodes 5 and 8 but it keeps showing you episode 4 over and over again
