“We have accounts there but never post” would be a very British solution to the question
Embodies the underlying weirdness of this government - the minister in question hasn't tweeted for *OVER A YEAR* because the site is a cesspit.
Cabinet Office Minister Baroness Anderson tells the Lords the Government will keep on using X.

"I still believe that X is an appropriate platform to use because I believe in freedom of speech..."

"It is incredibly important that there is a counter narrative on those platforms," she says.

I’m almost as confused as the Romans were! I must confess I thought it was Sunday…
Merry Yule! It’s the shortest day of the year and we can now look forward to the return of the light! The Romans seem to have been a bit confused about measuring the daylight and celebrated Sol on 25th December instead. That will never catch on!

Completely agree, the dereliction of duty of some journalists is shameful, the dereliction of duty of politicians in government is unforgivable.
Honestly impressed at Starmer and Nandy's commitment to not doing their job. This guy is literally talking about his wife, his children, her, and her children, and they do nothing!
CT explains why he thinks Shabana Mahmood is neither English, nor British, to which Cole does not respond to at all.

Cole: asks how many generations? Is it a race thing?
CT: Not race as Albanians don't count either. It is ancestry.
It is infinite generations, if you don't have the ancestry.

A little tradition I’ve been keeping on 1 December for some years now, since I rediscovered Counting Crows, is to play Recovering the Satellites… It’s a great winter album, and you can’t beat ‘A Long December’ for a December song.

For no reason at all I thought this quote from Katie Lam MP would work in a different font. I thought I’d add a headline too.

Apropos of nothing in particular. Really, no reason at all.

“This is the inevitable result of Elon Musk’s changes to X: he has outsourced moderation to the UK’s police forces – and unsurprisingly, they are bad at it. They are having to make decisions, and use the blunt instruments of the law, because Musk is refusing to use the many tools available to him.”
Why are so many Brits being arrested over tweets? Because of Elon Musk.
Social media moderation is being outsourced to UK police forces. Unsurprisingly, they're terrible at it.

Every year Icelandic tax records are open for a few days. And all the media outlets dig into them and write multiple stories about how much money some people made and how much they paid in taxes. We even have a special newspaper called The Salary Paper that only comes out once a year.

Slowly, ever so slowly, the British public is abandoning the idea that "hot weather = good", proving that the arc of history bends towards progress after all.
Are you hoping that a heatwave does or does not happen in the UK in the next few weeks?

Hope it does happen: 41%
Hope it does not happen: 47%

if you don't know about games, it will be completely invisible to you how many parts of your life are already dominated by game-design culture.
