I wouldn’t touch them since they refused me a basic bank account back in the day on the grounds I had to be resident in the UK for 3 years (likely in contravention of EU law). At least they had to tell me that, with a credit product they don’t even owe you an explanation.

@carladenyer.bsky.social I wish I could be completely pro or against ID cards, but as a settled EU citizen it would be reassuring to have a document that proves your status outside a Home Office website. Ideally if they make them optional, with a further option to have a physical card, that’d be 👍🏼
