FedSoc Lawyers act like the Administrative State is so oppressive but in reality it can’t even prevent companies from putting poison in baby powder.

In which my long-ago friend the Catholic integralist administrative law specialist runs into the problem that the Lawful Evil perspective he has embraced blinds him to the joy his current Chaotic Evil friends will take in arbitrariness, bloodshed, and fear.

No more happy warrior bullshit. The “We left it all on the field” and “I’m proud of the work we did.”

No you didn’t.

We vote for you as a compromise to not die under a reactionary boot.

Fighting hard is not enough. YOU MUST WIN.

the Democratic Party spends each election cycle courting the right, and every time they lose they create a fictional leftist version of the Democratic Party and claim that’s the version that just lost.
Oh my god we are DOOMED

Despite the wave of hate sweeping so much of the country, I'm glad to be trans. I'm proud of my sisterhood with people in all the reddest parts of this country who find the courage every day to say who they really are, and with everyone who, in spite of the Trumpists, loves them.

Biden should commute all federal death sentences. He claims to oppose the death penalty now, the risk of a political backlash is now moot, and it would be a historic, legacy-making move.

Question to law professors. Do you have a duty to teach students who don’t believe you have human rights?

I think the most galling part of the NYTimes article is the assumption that law enforcement can ever be apolitical.
Seems like kind of a heads Trump wins, tails Harris loses argument if somehow she doesn’t get to bring up Trump’s prosecution on the campaign trial despite having no role in said prosecution.

Lol at a Boricua who complains about Border Security.
“she was too prepared to be there and i didn’t trust that” is absolutely wild. trump has absolutely acculturated a lot of voters into thinking that being a stark raving maniac is a welcome form of authenticity

Important to remember Eric Adams’s campaign and election was meant to signal and celebrate the defeat of any popular demands to rein in policing and incarceration.

if you didn’t want republicans lying about immigrants eating cats, you shouldn’t have lied about JD Vance having sex with a couch. ultimately the left opened the floodgates, allowing republicans to lie for the first time ever.

I love this story. Courts are not fiefs - they are powerful tools entrusted to Judges that require empathy, understanding and discretion.
The teenage girl has now sued the judge who ordered her handcuffed. I would guess the odds of success in court are not great because of the judge-made doctrine that judges have absolute immunity from lawsuits, though there’s some room for argument about whether he was acting as a judge here.

I worry that the Dems are gunna win in November and then immediately forget SCOTUS left a metaphoric loaded gun in the room ready for the next fascist to pick it up and start blasting.

And even if they get a restraining order under JANCE’s world the bat-shit Castle Rock decision means the State doesn’t have to do anything to enforce it.
Just so everyone is perfectly clear: the GOP VP candidate is telling victims of domestic violence to stay in relationships with their abusers and wants government policy to encourage them to do so. Fucking evil regressive misogyny.
setting aside for a moment how truly awful this is, worth noting this article is effective because the first 4 paragraphs are devoted almost entirely to quoting him verbatim.

*Harris picks VP who gives kids free lunch*

Centrists “We’re fucked! It’s like she’s not even trying to defeat the a fascist Right. The only answer is to blame leftists.”
i mean chait outright says that Harris needs to openly alienate and antagonize lefties
