They can’t even set up a website securely and we’re supposed to trust them with everyone’s personal data.

Great strategy, let’s see how it plays out for them.

You would think the ONE thing we could all agree on as a country is that billionaires shouldn’t be involved in running our government and yet…

Firing the whistleblowers and rehiring the racists. Great country we’ve got here.

There are a bunch of “that’s what they voted for” in the comments and I am once again reminding you that kids did not vote for anything. Kids cannot help having dipshit parents, and kids will be the ones suffering. I understand that excising empathy feels better but come ON, y’all.

Elon fires thousands of people but the minute the racist guy leaves he’s like “ohhh no!!!”

"We will not stand idly by."

Some intel: I've talked to journalists and folks on the Hill about this. Last night after OMB's action, some Senate Dems tried to unify the caucus to vote against Duffy. Schumer, among others, opposed it, and it flopped.

The current Dem leadership strategy is to use strong language but not do shit.
Yesterday, every Democrat voted to advance Sean Duffy (DOT)'s nomination.

In protest against Trump's unconstitutional freezing of federal funds, 22 Democrats voted NO on confirmation today.

Glad to see more demonstrated urgency. But that 22 should be 47.

I dunno, it’s still completely insane to me that Trump was allowed to run again. Four years to prevent this and nothing.

Republicans spend all this time screaming about how unfair it is immigrants get benefits and aid and then turn around and cheer when Trump guts funding for Americans.

it says a lot about an industry if a free and open source alternative to every product on the market can destroy 1 trillion dollars of “value” in one day lol

If you’re old enough to have opposed the Iraq war in the run up to it, you probably remember a very specific feeling: the distress born from knowing that either you’re insane, or everyone in power and every “serious” professional opinion-haver is.

I feel the same way about generative “AI.”
The DeepSeek announcement from China has been called by some AI’s “Sputnik moment” for America.

It’s precisely why I made AI a top priority in the last Congress and will keep at it.

I guess I'm too woke because I find the proliferation of this really off-putting and gross. The fact that it's now reached the "enlightened centrists" class is depressing.

I tried to warn people that Weaponized unreality was going to come for the entire world if it’s succeeded in coming from America as it has now. It is on everyone in every place outside of the country and inside the country to fight back against the blatant rewriting of reality by fascists.
