Hello BlueSkiers! I’ve made a starter back of people working on rewilding and similar things in UK and Ireland. Many more to add but it’s a start.

*Gasp* I can't believe Russia has been flooding the internet with far-right propaganda bots pretending to be Americans.
X has changed their policy and now you can see where the accounts are based.

More pictures from a chilly Athelney yesterday. The wagtails and egrets were loving the digging. It looks brutal but actually it’s really only small part of the site…. The rest is just changing slowly as it will www.somersetwildlands.org

As a long term environmental activist it may not a seem natural part of the territory to be talking about defence and demanding greater strategic independence from the USA, but actually it all fits - climate change, justice, democracy, COP, Ukraine, Putin-Trump-Gaza-Saudi Arabia etc.

Excellent thread. Ukraine gets little out of these 28 points except the possibility of EU membership (still subject to Hungarian veto?); Putin gets plenty, inc a favourable starting point for next assault on Ukraine & return of all but $100 billion of immobilised Russian assets, plus US investment.
Here is Trump's full 28 point plan for Ukraine. It would destroy Ukraine as a sovereign state and leave it helpless to face a Russian attack in the future. It would also give Putin full vindication and immunity from prosecution.

Trump is pressuring Zelenskyy to sign the so-called peace treaty negotiated by the US and Russia by Nov 27. It basically gives Russia everything it wants and Ukraine nothing, and bases it on Russian non-aggression guarantees which are worthless.

There are so many things the government could be hammering Reform with, but they are not, and I genuinely think most of their supporters have no idea what most of their policies are, or their connections with Trump and Putin.

Essential reading on Trump’s capitulation to Putin, and his disdain for freedom and democracy. Europe needs to rally behind Ukraine and stand free of the US.
Just sent out this free piece. There was a weird and widely spread attempt in the media yesterday to create a fiction, that Trump's peace plan for Ukraine and Russia was a rogue operation by Steve Witkoff. That finally fell apart--and it’s important that it did. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

I do wonder if the advent of personally curated news makes it almost impossible for governments to be popular - at best they’ll be tolerated - because as people tune in to what they care about it only takes one issue to turn them into disliking a gov - even if they may still grudgingly vote for them
Keir Starmer's net favourability rating falls to its lowest level to date (-54, 16-17 November), within the margin of error of Jeremy Corbyn (-55) and Boris Johnson's (-53) lowest ratings

Favourable: 19% (-2 from 13-14 Oct)
Unfavourable: 73% (+1)
Net: -54 (-3)

This is terrible, not just for Ukraine but for Europe. If ever there was a signal that the UK and Europe need to guarantee their own security this is it.
The details of the plan that are being linked show that the Trump administration is planning to devastate Ukraine. Ukraine will be asked to cede land Russia has not conquered. The USA and other countries will be asked to recognize Crimea and other lands as Russian…

The US is not currently our friend. Like Russia it wants a weakened and divided Europe, filled with client states, or those it can flatter and bully.
