is it a coincidence that 2 key countries in Trump’s crosshairs are Venezuela, with the world’s largest known oil reserves, and Nigeria, the top oil producer in Africa?
Trump says he ordered strikes on ISIS targets in Nigeria
The president said numerous strikes were conducted against alleged Islamic State terrorists whom he accused of targeting Christians in northwest Nigeria.

Wash Post, CBS News, next CNN?, etc are not money makers. The owners give the Trumpists what they want and get favorable treatment for their other businesses in exchange. Owners make money that way. The regime wants quiescence. No one in this exchange cares if the outlets have audience or profits.

Tweet of the day. It is quite something when Trump's go to architect comes to him and says Sir, what you're describing is gauche, tacky and monstrous.
Imagine the quality of an architect that Trump would pick - and who would want to work for him. Even *that guy* thinks this project is too grandiose.
Even the architect Trump hired to build his massive addition to the White House objects to the president's vision. The two have argued about the size of the 90,000-sq-foot project that would dwarf the mansion. @jonathanreports.bsky.social @ddiamond.bsky.social www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

For any other president, it would be the biggest scandal of their lives, possibly career-ending.

For Trump, it's just Monday.

On a personal level, I've already made this transition. When I look for leadership, I immediately look to see what Pritzker, Walz, Beshear, Wu, Mamdani, etc., are saying before anyone in Congress. More Democrats should do the same until Schumer and Jeffries are gone.
It also might be worth thinking about Pritzker, Newsom (on his good days), Michelle Wu and other state/local figures when we think of "Democrats." Those officials are speaking to the moment and in many cases have more actual power than Jeffries/Schumer. I should more time amplifying them.
Out of respect for reality and our wellbeing, we probably need way less talk about what “Democrats” should do and way more talk about what “we” can do. We’re not going to look back and wish we complained about Democratic leadership more, especially when we’re clear enough to get why they’re stunted.
