We could do with a PMQ, actually. Does the Right Honourable Member agree with me that the use of strategic litigation funded by billionaires to force organisations to exclude trans people is abhorrent and against both the principles of the Equality Act and words of the Supreme Court judges? Etc

This is a new low from a govt plumbing the depths of performative cruelty in hopes that the public won’t notice they have no answers to the real issues facing this country

A sensible, humane govt would focus on safe routes to prevent people making dangerous small boat crossings

If we can pair that with an actual political win that you can get on board with in NY then it could be a pretty lovely Tuesday thank you very much

The first thing Yaxley-Lennon did on leaving court was to thank Elon Musk for funding his legal costs.

That's Elon Musk who has repeatedly called for civil war in the UK.

As of typing this - all of the major politicians and platforms maintain a presence on X and it is time for them all to leave.

Is it really *that hard* to say that it is totally morally wrong to say to people who have come here legally, worked, paid taxes, built their lives here, contributed to Britain, that they have to fuck off now, rather than "unfunded".
Keir Starmer’s spokesperson asked for the PM's response to Nigel Farage’s plan to deport hundreds of thousands of people living and working completely legally in the UK, replies that he thinks it is “unworkable” and “unfunded”.

So his objection is that they’ve got their sums wrong

Main takeaways from tonight 1) fuck your racism, stay out of Anfield and football 2) I love Mo and the Diogo grief will hit more often than we imagine at unexpected times 3) so happy for Chiesa, he seems like a nice, excited lad 4) Ekitike is going to be great fun

the left must understand that prime ministers only do this when they're very distressed
Starmer's Twitter account is wall-to-wall immigrant bashing, and has been for weeks.

You need to know these things if you're living in the Bluesky bubble and think everything's normal with Labour.

Imagine a world where you have to airdrop aid and rescue starving children from a situation an allied nation has created, whilst simultaneously supplying them arms and twisting yourself in political knots about whether or not to condemn them for it.

You don't actually have to imagine it, kids.

Cutting "red tape" (aka public protections), as Reeves is doing, does not save money. Instead, it transfers costs from the rich to the poor. Other people pay for financial recklessness, filthy rivers, air pollution, lax building standards and consumer rip-offs.

Keir Starmer's spokesman asked if the Government plans to remain on X, given its AI bot has been making antisemitic comments and endorsing Hitler, replies that this is an "internal" matter for the company

Unfortunately, with this Labour government you really have to accept that they’re not here to do anything more than make tweaks to what was already there. We need something completely different and if you still believe that we don’t, we just need the right people in charge of the system, sorry, no.

I don’t understand Yvette Cooper’s moral universe where we are supposed to feel more threatened by protesters spray painting war planes than our own government’s steadfast support of a regime who everyday find more horrendous ways to murder people .
More than 400 people in Gaza have now been killed trying to reach food at sites run by the ‘Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’. “The attempt to survive is being met with a death sentence,” says Jonathan Whittall, UN humanitarian coordination office (OCHA).

If you are too young to remember the Iraq War, you'll hear "no one protested" and "no one knew they were lying." Millions of people knew they were lying and protested. The press not only did not want a record of mass dissent; they did not want a record of mass knowledge of lies.

To any normal person "stop selling them military materiel" would be rung one of sanctions, not some wild last resort
Britain is still providing arms to Israel. So it's doing a lot more than "tolerating" this world historic evil. It's continuing to participate in it.

Lammy's retoric was strong, but the announced actions were feeble. If we want to support the people of Gaza then we need to be clear about that.

Hard pass on the Labour Party
If you thought the PM’s speech was punchy, his foreword to the immigration white paper says high net migration has done “incalculable damage” to the country.

That is a serious shift in tone for a Labour government/party.
