Professor Richard Falk, the veteran human rights scholar and former UN rapporteur, was detained for four hours in Canada, on his 95th birthday, where he had gone to speak at the Gaza Tribunal. The repression of pro-Palestinian voices is worldwide.

On 11 November, 1965, Rhodesia announced its Unilateral Declaration of Independence and its break with Britain. For the global far right in the 1960s-70s, Rhodesia became a cause celebre, seen as on the frontline (alongside apartheid South Africa) against communism and multi-racial democracy.

Al Jazeera is doing videos of the Palestinian releases and they're heart wrenching. One man was detained for over a year and was released to find out that Israel had killed his two kids. The youngest was three. Her birthday would've been on Saturday. He'd made a small bracelet for her in prison.

As the US government trains its sights on the ICC as a whole, a reminder of a continuing and indefensible failure to protect the institution and its agents:
It is scandalous that 🇪🇺 has still not invoked the blocking statute.

6 ICC judges, 3 ICC prosecutors, & 1 UN special rapporteur have now been targeted with this lawlessness.

3 abandoned by the 🇪🇺 of which they are citizens (ICC judges Guillou 🇫🇷 & Hohler 🇸🇮; UN SR Albanese 🇮🇹)
Among other actions, the EU must protect the ICC through the Blocking Statute:
