Israel’s dystopian ‘Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’ was condemned by all established aid groups. Now even Jake Wood, the former U.S. Marine sniper who headed it, has resigned as even he is unable to able to defend the pretence that the GHF is a ‘humanitarian’ endeavour.

I keep thinking about this phrasing and how it reveals the extraordinarily hard work (psychic work but also political work and outright repression) that has made it possible to only now be starting to ‘suspect’ that Israel aims to ethnically cleanse Gaza.

Those worried that Trump Admin’s annual human rights report may be ‘politically motivated’ should re-read the 2023 report, which described Israel as taking “credible steps to identify and punish officials who may have committed human rights abuses.”
