Finishing this book wasn't exactly easy, but it's out there now and I can hardly believe it...

We are happy to come to your institution and present the findings in the Autumn, just drop us a line!
Our brand new monograph, discussing the findings of our work together during the last seven years, is now out for @oxfordacademic.bsky.social‬ and free to read and download!

New episode in this series out now, as General Vannacci posts on Facebook to remind everyone that Mussolini gained power via legal means (hence, presumably, he wasn't THAT bad...), and the leghista of the old guard Zaia from the Veneto region retorts condemning the Racial Laws of 1938.
Nothing to see here. Just the faction led by General Vannacci, the League's deputy leader (now clashing openly with the leghista old guard that still dreams of federalism) organising a meeting on "Remigration" alongside several international guests from various organisations.

Three years a VERY long time in politics...
Opinion: Italy, often dismissed as Europe’s weak link in the past, has become a success story. This is shown clearly in the verdict of investors. on.ft.com/4nOh61N

When you keep doing the same thing (trying to out-Reform Reform UK) but expect a different result (Reform UK voters flocking to Labour, and progressive voters not being tempted by Polanski).

But sure, this time it may work.

As the new party "Northern Pact" (attempting to attract the leghisti of the old guard who still dream of "federalism" and reject Salvini's "new" League) prepares to hold its 1st Conference, its likely future leader tells press: "it is necessary to work on other projects now". In the north, of course
Italy's Court of Auditors has now rejected Salvini's plans for the construction of the controversial bridge connecting Sicily to the mainland across the Strait of Messina.

This story has the potential to further expose the increasing distance between the radical right League (led by General Vannacci, alongside Salvini) & the old guard of the party in the north. The Governor of Veneto Zaia (old guard) tells the media that the Court's intervention is legitimate.

Indeed
The moment that a consensus builds in England that the Greens and LibDems are more likely to block Reform gains the Labour Party is dead in the water.

Scotland and Wales already look lost to the SNP and Plaid Cymru.
It's increasingly obvious that Labour's strategy - call it Starmerism, Blue Labour, whatever - has got it badly wrong. It has alienated the party's core vote while failing to win over those leaning to Reform. There was no shortage of people warning them they were getting it wrong either.

First the announcement and then the "internal review".

Ok.
Are the Tories now rowing back on ILR?

Last week Badenoch's spokesman said Katie Lam's comments were "broadly in line" with the party's stance

Now a party spokesperson says it's “subject to an ongoing internal review” following a widespread backlash

The idea that -just because you lead the executive for 4 years- you are allowed to demolish buildings/gardens/monuments that have such historical significance and belong to all citizens... is frankly just bonkers.
NEW: NBC News confirms that the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, on the east side of the White House, has been destroyed as part of the demolition of the East Wing.
