Yet two years after the agreement was signed, the structures built in Albania have held an average of 20 asylum seekers a month (they were going to be 2,000 a month), with the Italian taxpayer having forked out circa 670 million Euros so far.

But seriously, there is no advisor left in Conservatives HQ, or even just an MP passing by, who can tell Badenoch to drop it and move on to a more sensible topic?

Noone?

Italy's Court of Auditors has now rejected Salvini's plans for the construction of the controversial bridge connecting Sicily to the mainland across the Strait of Messina.

If you ask the leghisti within Vannacci's faction they will tell you that "remigration" is about sending "back" people who commit serious crimes after gaining Italian citizenship. Reminiscent of many campaigns by the Swiss SVP...

Nothing to see here. Just the faction led by General Vannacci, the League's deputy leader (now clashing openly with the leghista old guard that still dreams of federalism) organising a meeting on "Remigration" alongside several international guests from various organisations.

And those years aren't coming back for me".

There, l fixed it.

Getting ready to debate himself...

This has now happened, as the annual League's gathering in Pontida was turned into a pro-MAGA, pro-Kirk event today.

The Italianisation of UK politics reaches new levels..

Let's see if the UK's political elite will take up with gusto a very Italian habit: hammering new generations as "slackers" and "unmotivated", when all evidence shows that it is much harder for them than it ever was for those doing the talking

Stroppa is, of course, referring to Meloni's promise to deploy a "naval blockade" once in government to "stop the boats" that cross the Mediterranean sea.

Elon Musk's lobbyist in Italy attacks Meloni for being too soft on illegal migration and gets reposted by Musk himself.

Yet Meloni will sleep tight tonight.

Dear American friends,

I am probably showing my age here, but my humble opinion is that this is not normal.

Push back.

Loud intervention in Italian politics by Camillo Ruini, President Emeritus of the Permanent Assembly of Italian Bishops & very high profile figure for the Catholic Church.

Somebody explain to the right-wing Valeurs Actuelles that Giorgia is taking private tuitions to be accepted by Europe's Christian Democratic core...

Oh never mind.

Good old Starmer investing all his energy trying to be the new Farage... only to end up having to fight Corbyn/Sultana & the Greens for left wing votes...

Brill!

Crossings from Africa into Italy up 12% since the same period last year. Bad news for Meloni.

Forza Italia jumping on the bandwagon of "cuts to emissions? Not so fast", while the whole country enjoys "record temperatures" (which won't be record anymore next year).
July 3, 2025 at 7:11 AM
The Italian right today:

1. No sign that its electorate's honeymoon with Giorgia Meloni may be coming to an end;

2. Antonio Tajani has managed to keep his party's support above the League's for months... by incessantly talking about a leader who passed away two years ago... 🤷‍♂️

Those people over there? Fine.

I just never thought they would deport my grandma...

Fact: Two and a half years after last general election, there's no sign that the honeymoon between Giorgia Meloni & the electorate may be coming to an end. Quite the opposite. Her party is above 30% (vs. 26% in 2022).

Meanwhile, following the advice of his team in Downing Street, Starmer is seen at the pub in Runcorn, telling "jokes" about Turkish barbers.

Will this be enough to reverse the tide?
