Not sure what the American aversion to calling concentration camps "concentration camps" is, but the distinction is breaking down pretty quickly
WaPo reports that ICE is planning 7 massive human warehouses holding 5,000 to 10,000 people.

Recalls the acting ICE director 2015 statement that he wanted to see a “business”-oriented approach to deportations, “like [Amazon] Prime, but with human beings”.

ICE documents reveal plan to hold 80,000 immigrants in warehouses

A ver, ahora en serio ¿Qué me molesta de esto? ¿Que haya decidido situar la Odisea en la Edad Media (esos pantalones, esa forma de arrodillarse...)? No. ¿Que no sea históricamente correcto? Tampoco. Ni siquiera (del todo) lo cutre de las armaduras de plastiquete...

one of the critical things here is that 90 percent of journalism has been destroyed, and the remaining 10 percent is what was once the top 10 percent, highly status-driven, highly opinion-driven, and intensely New York/DC centered. there's no ladder to come up as a journeyman left.
i say this with nothing but love for all of you to whom this applies, but the moral rot in elite journalism is because journalism is a trade and it should be done by tradespeople and instead it's been professionalized in a way that makes it cozy to capital instead

The affordability crisis is an inequality crisis. When prices spike in key sectors, it's not just inflation—it's a massive redistribution shock that hits poor households hardest.
In our **new working paper**, we identify the sectors that matter most. A thread 🧵

They have these great things now called "abstracts" and "introduction" that take between 1 and 5 minutes to read.

They also invented this thing called the "book review" that usually takes 5 minutes!

Also, no one reads every book/article in their field. No one.

one thing that is important to know is that BIRTH OF A NATION is so racist that people at the *time*, in 1915, were like, “holy shit this is racist”
When the slightest bit of research shows he was consistently racist and a daddy issues Confederate fanboy.

People try to paint BIRTH OF A NATION as a masterpiece with some unfortunate racism. The whole movie is racist, the “masterpiece “ thing was backfilled to excuse it.

I can *100% assure you* that if this report found that trans people & "wokeness" tanked the Harris campaign, the DNC would release it in a heartbeat
BREAKING: The Democratic National Committee will NOT release its long-awaited autopsy on Trump's 2024 win. The report is completed but Dem leaders decided it could distract from their winning streak, so it will remain secret. Not good.

Something I’ve commented on before is that, in addition to Nuremberg finding that the Nazis violated international law, they also found that they violated German law and the Weimar constitution (which had never been repealed).
Forget all this. The President has no fucking authority to declare war on anyone.

International law is great. It's important. But this shit is illegal as a matter of AMERICAN law
It is international law 101 that a military blockade is not just a violation of the UN Charter, but a crime of aggression.

Unless that blockade is in response to an 'armed attack.'

None of President's Trump's list of complaints come close to an armed attack.

Ya no hay redes sociales
Las redes sociales pasan de ser plataformas basadas en texto a estar basadas en imágenes, pasando a convertirse en una micro televisión distribuida.
