Walz: If you say you love freedom but you don't believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love is not freedom, it is privilege.

In a very real way, I think Trumps presidency in 2024-2028 is going to be ground zero for the fight that we all knew was bubbling in the right:

There is literally no reason for business libertarians and hard right dominionists to exist in a coalition together.

Did you know? Black Friday is named in honor of Rebecca Black, who invented Friday in 2011.

One fact that's highly under-appreciated is that, when it comes to politics, nobody knows anything & everyone's full of shit.

My best guess is Elon is going to keep doubling and tripling down because things are probably getting awkward in the background in like.. staffing SpaceX and such.

Why I’m optimistic about the energy transition:

Watch my recent keynote at the Euroheat and Power conference in Brussels in full.

We tend to underestimate new technologies and innovation, and we tend to overestimate the inertia of incumbent technologies.

side note: people like this whine about there not being enough "debate" about "trans ideology" because they DON'T want to debate the thing they actually want to do, namely take away trans people's rights

Still, puncturing the Trump doomer bubble that he's going to just get to do everything he wants this quickly is super useful.

So the strategy of getting low propensity voters by mostly doing online content actually worked for him

Amazing
Navigator Survey finds Trump won with a coalition of less engaged voters

+12 with non-2020 voters
+4 with voters who skipped 2022
+4 who say politics not impt to them
+6 who get news from social media
+16 who get news from podcasts

When the dust settles, this presidential race will look different from Hillary Clinton’s race in 2016, now seen by pundits as a winnable race that she lost. The 2024 election will be remembered as an unwinnable race where Harris almost pulled off an upset. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/history-wi...
History Will Not Be Kind to Joe Biden
If, that is, it remembers him at all.

I'm old enough to remember when America deluded itself into believing Rudy Giuliani was "America's Mayor." Bush was re-elected & he won the popular vote.
Then GOP policies kicked in. All the failures mounted. All the pain. Trump is more dysfunctional & chaotic.

This high won't last long.

another problem with the whole echo chamber argument is that from an electoral perspective, the voters dem need to flip next election cycle are almost certainly already tuned out of politics again and will be until nov 2028

Politics are set in stone until they aren't. A movement is a movement until it isn't, and there is no mandate here, just a messy election that involves inflation and an administration that is already overreaching and getting their hand slapped.

There is no Democratic margin of victory so great that the press will declare it a mandate and there is no Republican victory so narrow that they won't.
