I have lived in the neighborhood that this apartment and a number of other Pinnacle-owned buildings are in for a decade (so predating the 2019 law), in two different apartments, and can verify that they have been notorious for exactly this practice. This thread is accurate.
The premise of this WSJ article is incorrect. We can debate the effects of the 2019 laws on the rental market, but Pinnacle was a bad actor long before them. Their model for decades was to buy up RS properties and let them fall into disrepair to push tenants out. www.wsj.com/opinion/new-...

IMO the argument is that you can make things into big enough deals that it matters. Khanna found Massey and found survivors and made the Epstein Files the gigantic story it should be. Only then did establishment Dems come along. You can, in fact, make things into big hairy deals if you do it right.
