Simply amazing that the Supreme Court declared an end to legal race discrimination in the affirmative action case two years ago and now allows overt racism in both immigration arrests and redistricting.

Using race to help minorities? Bad. Using it to discriminate against them? Very, very good.

Democratic politicians need to stop accepting Trump’s white nationalist premise that immigration is bad and proudly and loudly make a positive case for why America’s identity and history as a nation of immigrants is so important.

Note: As I point out in my piece, the demonstration DHS is referencing here was led by faith leaders — seven of whom were among the 21 arrested.

I asked some of those clergy what they thought about DHS’ statement.

This was their reply: religionnews.com/2025/11/15/a...

Note active voice in thread when victim "upends" Gaetz career but passive voice in image when discussing her exploitation.

"Gaetz sexually exploited a homeless child and destroyed his career in the process" would assign a man and a republican agency. And we can't have that.
A teenager in Florida with a homeless parent wanted money for braces and ended up having sex for money with powerful men, setting off a chain of events that would have a dramatic impact on her life and help upend the political career of Representative Matt Gaetz. nyti.ms/49PSkL9

Have they not learned from Rs how to seek & destroy? Imagine their reaction to these catastrophes under a D president.
These headlines related to U.S. military aviation have all appeared in the last 11 days. There is a major problem at the Defense Department.

January 6 drew something like 50,000 MAGA folks to DC, from across the country.

The 2017 women's march put ten times that number into DC's streets. Obviously no way to be certain that an anti-coup protest could recapture that energy, but you can't rule it out.

The president is playing videos at his political rallies of people getting their heads shaved at what is effectively a concentration camp.

He’s sending people to that camp with no due process, and 9 in 10 have no criminal record. The rallies are eating it up.

Forget “can.” It is happening here.

“And then I grew up … and I read books.”

As someone else who’s proud of his NC ties, I respect the hell out of @davidjoy.bsky.social for speaking out like this.
WATCH: “You’re saying you revere a time when their ancestors were in bondage.”

In NC, @davidjoy.bsky.social powerfully explains why it’s wrong to remove a “compromise plaque” without public input, and why revering the confederacy is offensive.

Really need journalists to push back on this bullshit. When they say this, just ask them point blank: "Are you saying that because one Latino man committed a murder, another Latino man deserves a life sentence? Do you think all Latino men interchangeable?"

“Restore more doctrinaire leadership” about THE ACTUAL PAPACY is really a gorgeous combination of the Times’ hick condescension toward religion and its reflexive belief that right-wing politics is the only true and authentic politics
Pope Francis died at 88, the Vatican announced Monday, ending a pontificate that sought to reshape the Roman Catholic Church into a more inclusive institution. Cardinals will now decide whether to continue his approach or restore more doctrinaire leadership.

Were any of these people conscious during the last election? Because my recollection is Dems spent all their time talking about grocery prices and Republicans were the ones who wouldn’t shut up about trans folks & drag story hour.
Real talk. We got ourselves into a cultural cul-de-sac.

We weren’t good on kitchen table issues or the family room. The only place we did well in the house was the bathroom. That’s the smallest room in the house.
