I agree with @ezralevin.bsky.social the Surrender Dems didn't fight for our healthcare. They won't fight to defend the results of the midterms when the fascist GOP will falsely claim they won in a classic autocratic move. They will roll over. Again and again and again. So what do we do?

Republicans figured out they can just do things, and half the country will say, "You can't just do that," every time.
This week I had someone tell me they're not worried about SNAP being cut off because "that's illegal, so it's impossible Trump could do that, so obviously it's just media sensationalism." Another person told me they weren't worried about ICE because "they can't detain you if you're legally here."

Last thought for now. In Trump 1.0 @mchorowitz.bsky.social & I, authors of books about how leaders matter, wrote about how Trump was constrained by geography or other factors and couldn't just shape events. But here, it is impossible to imagine any other US president doing this. Leaders matter. 7/7

We shouldn't idolize politicians, but Zelensky is an actual wartime President who has shown incredible personal bravery in an impossible situation, whereas Trump is a coward whose only brush with war was an attempt to start a new civil one at home.
