#CDC reports that for the week ending 12/6, 3.2% of medical visits were for flu-like illnesses. The baseline — ie the point where flu season is considered to have started — is 3.1%.
This timing is pretty normal, coming after the mixing at Thanksgiving

Also, if you go back to getting flattened by the COVID vax: 50mg diphenhydramine 15 minutes before or 20mg cetirizine/loratidine or 360mg fexofenadine 2-3 hours before the shot reduces the terrible side effects for most people and doesn't fuck with the vaccine efficacy!

I've seen some posts suggesting day drinking to deal with today's news, and I want to offer some suggestions for how to get through today if you don't want to drink, or use drugs. I'm going to suggest these things as someone who hasn't drank or taken drugs in over 9 years. I hope they help.

Yes! 50mg diphenhydramine (Benadryl) 15 minutes before a COVID vaccine or 20mg cetirizine 2-3 hours before will leave you feeling SIGNIFICANTLY less like death after! *And* there's a ton of evidence that taking H1+H2 antihistamines in significant enough doses reduces risk of catching COVID.

Citibank revealed in court filings on Wednesday that, under the Trump administration, “the FBI, the EPA, the EPA inspector general, & the Treasury Dept have all requested that the bank freeze accounts of several nonprofits” (including Habitat for Humanity) & “state government agencies.” 3/13/25
