Also, if you go back to getting flattened by the COVID vax: 50mg diphenhydramine 15 minutes before or 20mg cetirizine/loratidine or 360mg fexofenadine 2-3 hours before the shot reduces the terrible side effects for most people and doesn't fuck with the vaccine efficacy!

Yes! 50mg diphenhydramine (Benadryl) 15 minutes before a COVID vaccine or 20mg cetirizine 2-3 hours before will leave you feeling SIGNIFICANTLY less like death after! *And* there's a ton of evidence that taking H1+H2 antihistamines in significant enough doses reduces risk of catching COVID.

I lament that the Court appears to have embarked on a new era of procedural variability, and that it has done so in such a casual, inequitable, and, in my view, inappropriate manner. See Department of Education v. California, 604 U. S. ___ , ___ (2025) (JACKSON, J., dissenting) (slip op., at 1–2). At least when the Court went off base in the past, it left a record so posterity could see how it went wrong. See, e.g., Korematsu v. United States, 323 U. S. 214 (1944). With more and more of our most significant rulings taking place in the shadows of our emergency docket, today’s Court leaves less and less of a trace. But make no mistake: We are just as wrong now as we have been in the past, with similarly devastating consequences. It just seems we are now less willing to face it.

A little guide to help prep for tariff I found a while ago, hope some will find it useful
“Should I stock up?" A US-centric brief guide/intro to tariffs and stocking up TARIFFS: tl;dr is price increases are coming. Goods and materials from Canada, Mexico, and China will go up in price. These are some of our major trading partners. What to prioritize to prepare for this? DEBTS: DO NOT PANIC BUY!!! Don't go crazy buying things right now in a way that'll put you in a poor economic position. What else will be posted below all presumes you're purchasing according to your personal purchasing power and situation. OTHER FINANCES: Cut out subscriptions. Set a budget to limit impulse spends (including on prep items - don't go overboard on the New Hotness out of panic). FOOD: Everyone has to eat. Try to stock up on food now, as this will be impacted both by tariffs and possible deportations (not to mention other stuff like climate impacts, H5N1...). You don't need to go nuts all in one day, just increase your shopping trips and buy more non/low-perishables when you go out. • Only buy stuff you'll actually eat! And try to buy stuff on sale. • Canned foods are great but take up space. • Dry foods take up less space per food-mass but can be prone to infestation. Freeze them for 48 hours to kill insect eggs before chucking them in a hard-walled container (ex. plastic tote or metal garbage bins) to keep mice out. • Don't forget spices/flavorings too, as well as other small imported personal luxuries like chocolate and coffee - the spice of life. • Store in cool, dark, dry areas. • Desiccants and oxygen removers are your friend for preserving and food quality. Get a few and chuck them in closed food containers to keep things fresh longer. • If you have one, a vacuum sealer can help preserve food and save space. If you don't, consider if that's an investment you're really willing to swing. • The pre-made prepper buckets are not worth the money. • Note, this also applies to pet food. Stock up for your pets! Dry kibbles can also be i… only birth control pills. Long-term birth control options like IUDs can be helpful for "set and forget". If seeking something even more permanent. High priority. MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS: Consider using reusables and buying them now as a one-time cost. Cloth pads, cups, discs, are all good options. If you must use disposables, stock up now since a lot are made overseas. OTHER HEALTH: Whatever you might need health-wise, whether it's masks, eyeglasses/contacts, or CPAP machine parts, try to get. At minimum it's handy to have some disposable gloves, N95 masks, and eye protection (goggles or glasses). Adjust this based on personal priority, but I would consider this high priority given potential declines in the healthcare system. HOUSEHOLD GOODS: Dish detergent, laundry detergent, toilet paper, etc. If possible, consider replacing disposables with reusable items such as washcloths or a bidet, especially if you consume a lot (e.g. large families). This will cut down both on costs and on storage, as a lot of these items can be bulky. Also consider switching to powdered laundry detergent instead of pods or liquid - more bang for your buck, less space/weight. FITNESS: Not really a thing to buy unless you want to get some equipment, but something to keep in mind. Having a fitness routine improves your physical and mental health. At minimum, have some good walking/running shoes (for those who can walk/run) and a decent water bottle. Try to do something for at least 30 minutes a day. Joining a gym isn't necessary (and can be expensive) unless you want to use the machines. FUN: High priority. A lot of places and opportunities will likely decline or shutter entirely in the future as they find themselves unable to stay open with increased material/labor prices. Enjoy them while you can. Remember, we're trying to prepare, but that doesn't mean we have to be miserable!
