"Get the principals on camera" is such a telling phrase here, because it tells us that for Weiss there's no world in which the victims of these horrific actions can actually be seen as the subjects of the story: They're background noise, and the people who matter are the ones sending them.

Once I was up for a role in a film & producers said “If we cast a white woman as female lead we can’t cast you; gotta get an actor of color.” They wound up casting a white woman & thus cast a great Black actor in the part I was up for. He killed it. Did I whine about it? No, I got another job or made one up; don’t even remember. World got a movie with a fantastic performance in it & I wound up A-OK. So the thing that 100% didn’t happen to these bigot pussies literally happened to me & the world continued to wipe my white ass. Give these shitheads no quarter. I love affirmative action & DEI even though it can be inelegant or clumsy. So what? It’s the barest of bandaids on centuries of racism both explicit & structural. Racism that I’m not responsible for but that I am very happy to ever-so-barely acknowledge is as real as a hand grenade, because I’m not insane.

A podcast asked me to record a voice note about my prediction for 2026 and here it is.
It is going to happen this year. You know what I mean. God’s will. Naturally of course. No need to come knocking on my door. I’m chilling at home and I’ll be chilling at home when it happens. Before I go running out into the streets that is. Shaking the mailman’s hand. Kissing nurses and shit. All of a sudden there’s a drumline and a mariachi band and breakdancers and fuckin… David Guetta is DJing on a rooftop if David Guetta is still alive. Maybe we’ll even get to watch it live on TV. The first flicker that something is really wrong. Slowing it down and rewinding it after like when Lisa broke Ralph’s heart. The realization in his eyes. The first single moment of self awareness in 80 years. Like a flailing panicked deer you’ve crashed your car into on the side of a snowy mountain pass. The eyes fluttering back and forth. Surely this can’t have been it. Perhaps a brief bargaining with God. God saying he’s going to pass on the deal. I do not agree with your terms sir. It’s gonna be like the Will Smith Summertime video out there. Everywhere. We’re all going to get fired from our jobs for posting. 100% unemployment. One good day.

How do you get to be a senator when you are this stupid? There are no "NATO dues", so there's no one to pay anything to. The 2% was always a non-binding aspirational guideline. There is no pool of NATO funds everyone pays into - it is all domestic spending - so who would you "pay" it to? #cdnpoli

I don't feel bad for the Blue Jays. Great club, great fans, great culture. They were the underdog and pushed one of the most stacked teams ever to the brink in Game 7 and I would argue carried the most momentum throughout the series. They got every reason to stand tall.

Trump has consistently abused executive authority to do things that, constitutionally, can only be performed by Congress — from bombing Iran to hitting Canada with tariffs. He has fired scores of civil servants, purged military commanders and immigration judges, and shut down entire agencies and departments. He has deployed federal agents and the national guard to occupy two American cities, over the objection of those cities and states and in violation of the constitution. He has created a national program of abductions and deportations, in complete violation of due process, sending migrants off to be abused and tortured. His loyal agents have arrested politicians who get in the way of those immigration arrests. He has recruited an army of loyal, conspiratorial, and aggressive influencers and media organizations. His government has withheld federal funds, including disaster relief, from cities and states which protect migrants. He has funnelled millions of dollars of public money into his companies and set up a multibillion dollar bribery scheme through his cryptocurrency. He has ousted independent watchdogs and imposed control over once-independent agencies. He hit Brazil with 50 per cent tariffs as punishment for prosecuting their corrupt former president. He has rolled out the red carpet for dictator Vladimir Putin and supplied Israel’s crusade against Gaza. He has dismantled America’s public health system and destroyed its foreign aid operations. He has aggressively deregulated and eviscerated America’s climate plans. He has used legal and financial threats to cow private companies, universities, and media outlets into subservience. He has defunded America’s public broadcasters. He has pardoned domestic extremists and appointed conspiracy theorists to high-level positions. His apparatchiks have turned government agencies into bullhorns for white nationalist propaganda. He placed sanctions on a Canadian judge serving on the International Criminal Court.
