The image of the blood-soaked airbag next to the glove compartment overflowing with stuffed animals is going to stick with me for a very long time.

We are spending $11bn a year on a machine that is destructive to our own liberty in pursuit of fundamentally illegitimate and evil goals. It is a moral scandal to our era it even exists

I’m #writing the sequel right now, literally, and hope to be able to share a release date soon. So now is a great time to check out the first book in the VDA series. It’s got #romance and #mystery with a luckless human man and the punk rock vampire queen who wants to eat him for dinner. #booksky

~3000 more words into the rough draft of Vampire Detective Agency: Double Date and its starting to feel like a book.

This is blatantly illegal. A president can’t go into the oil business and then decide where to spend the money. We are completely untethered from our founding document with a lawless president and a Republican Congress which has abdicated all Constitutional authority.

So with Draft2Digital's upcoming paperback pricing change my $14.99 paperbacks will have a royalty rate of $0.01 per sale. I hate to do it, but increasing the price seems reasonable when the cost of materials keeps climbing. Right?

Doing my best to click clack away like a good corporate drone, but it’s hard not to think about how my country was overrun by fascists on this day.

Fascinating to me that when Venezuelans are willingly in the US without permission, we snatch them off the street and deport them without due process

When they don’t want to be here, we kidnap them, bring them here against their will, and provide due process

Woke up this morning with an epiphany: The planned ending for Vampire Detective Agency: Double Date was AWFUL. It worked for a thriller, but not a supernatural-romance mystery. I spent this morning retooling the ending. Now the book flows better and the ending is a proper OMG moment for readers.

Last year I wrote about how strange it is that Apple rates Grok as appropriate for kids 12+ in the App Store. I checked this morning in the wake of Grok's CSAM/nudification scandals and can report that ... Apple now rates Grok as appropriate for kids 13+.

You'd think if, in the span of a year, an AI declared itself MechaHitler and then, a few months later, became the internet's most prolific generator of CSAM, maybe the media would take a more active interest in reporting on it.

Working on writing the rough draft of Vampire Detective Agency: Double Date. I hate this part. I love plotting and outlining. I love refining and editing. I hate starting with a blank page and writing the first rough draft.

Yeah, people are fixating on a Cabinet Secretary being given a sovereign country to run because the president waged war without congressional approval and kidnapped the old leader. Weird that they’d get hung up on that.
WELKER: Mr. Secretary, are you running Venezuela right now?

MARCO RUBIO: Yeah. People are fixating on that. Here's the bottom line -- we expect to see changes in Venezuela

As an aside, I do think it’s worth noting that the current US admin illegally invaded another country and “arrested” (kidnapped) its president before it arrested anyone on the Epstein list.
