An annoying anti-car person | 📍 Los Angeles, CA | 🌈🚴‍♀️🚌🚅
Pinned
Hey, I'm Zombie! Welcome to my page! :)

I'm a big nerd for urbanism and public transit advocacy, which is what I mostly post about. I live in Los Angeles and curate a number of feeds that pick up chatter about the city:
- 🌴Los Angeles Metro Area
- 🚉Urbanism - Los Angeles
- 🧊LA vs. ICE
Proud member of the 33%!
Reflections on last week's #WeekWithoutDriving in a city that still refuses to acknowledge the existence of its nondrivers — which a comprehensive new report claims make up one-third of LA's population
One-third of Angelenos do not drive
Walking back the "car-free" games promise is unconscionable in a city where the people who don't drive are also the most vulnerable users of our streets

DeRoche: In 105 L.A. primary schools, 70% of students don't read at grade level. Boundaries based on racist 1930s redlining maps keep them there.

All it took to get this quick-build safety upgrade was 10 years, the death of Nadir Gavarrete, and the guerilla work of the @crosswalksla.bsky.social
Today LADOT installed official crosswalks and interim quick-build traffic circle at 4th & New Hampshire in #Koreatown

Hey @ladotofficial.bsky.social, you've had funding for 14 years to fix 4th & New Hampshire in Ktown, but instead you did nothing, which killed Nadir. Amazing that it only took you three months to remove our crosswalks and memorial. Put them back in or we will. Again. And again. And again.

It bothers me that after billions spent building a rail system, we are left with a system that is too slow, too unreliable and too uncomfortable to be useful.

LA Metro single tracked between Westlake/MacArthur Park and Union Station due to LAFD activity/trackway issues
November 12, 2025 at 3:05 AM
Heads up to my LA Metro homies: B and D Lines are currently single tracked between Westlake/MacArthur Park and Union Station. LAFD are on the platform at Westlake seemingly trying to get into the track tunnel space? (That’s all conjecture, to be clear)

Still my favorite shot from the day. There was only one place with enough space to guarantee a glimpse of LA's winning team: the freeway overpasses. Or, for a handful of fans who bravely scurried down a slope of spiky century plants, the freeway itself.

Let's just have next year's parade there?

On Tuesday night, you may have noticed something a little different on Bluesky. Here's a peek behind the scenes of how the election feed came together. Endlessly grateful for this collaboration with @wnyc.org/@gothamist.com & @bsky.app!

The *most* important part of our work @graze.social is respecting our community members and lifting them up. We approached some of our users to help us design the feed for @wnyc.org / @gothamist.com and @zombiegomoan.bsky.social answered the call. We're *thrilled* to call Zombie a friend ❤️
I got to play a role in the development of this feed, and I couldn't be prouder of the results. @graze.social is doing some incredible things! 💙🐮
