An annoying anti-car person | 📍 Los Angeles, CA | 🌈🚴‍♀️🚌🚅
This is their official word on it, I just don't know what constitutes light vs heavy rain tbh

Even if you are in the Valley, transit is a lot better than it gets credit for tbh. LA Metro's bus lines in the Valley have consistently had some of the highest post-COVID ridership returns/growth. It only recently had a decline bc of the ICE raids.

LA Metro single tracked between Westlake/MacArthur Park and Union Station due to LAFD activity/trackway issues

Brought a big power bank to charge my e-bike on Metrolink after a long day biking around

Welp…it’s a bad start to Clean Air Day, def gonna be late for work… #bikesky

Not a hockey guy, but this showed up in my Urbanism - Los Angeles feed. Just a heads up that Metrolink won't be operating b/w Laguna Niguel and Oceanside this weekend if you know of people coming from that way

From the Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council Newsletter, they oppose SB 79 (no surprise there), and also have a proposal for LA Metro that blends the technology of Sepulveda Transit Corridor Alternative 5, with the route of Alt 6. #LA #urbanism+

Spotted one of those weird walking robots in North Hollywood #LA

To anyone who uses my LA family of feeds, here's a cool thing you can do to help me moderate the feed! When you see a post that doesn't look like it belongs, open the three-dot menu and press "Show less like this". This will send that data back over to me and help keep the feed on theme!

She isn't the NoHo rep, that's Adrian Nazarian. Here's her district boundaries.

This was unironically in the DEIR for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor, "significant and unavoidable construction impacts" because of a takeover of a parking garage. Like I know CEQA forces them to do this sort of analysis, but it's emblematic of how much the system needs reform...

I heavily considered just riding all the way south on the beach path but decided to take Ballona back up to the E Line. Skipped this first train that arrived cause it was full but just gonna accept how busy this next one is

A delightful conclusion to CicLAvia just sitting at Venice Beach w/ my fellow cyclists #LA

Really interesting data here. I knew CD4's opposed to apts in SFH streets, but I had no clue how strong the opposition also is in CD2! I'm also intrigued by how a modest majority of CD11 respondents are fine with denser housing in SFH areas, just not in their neighborhood. #LA #urbanism+

Until you’ve actually ridden an ebike for a little bit, you simply don’t understand what a game changer electric bikes are for urban transportation! I’ve done just a pinch more than 1,000 miles on my ebike since I got it in March. It’s amazing!

Did this get stuck in the automated post scheduler? Not a new report, published in May!

Other side of Reseda is now all dug up so yeah I think it’s likely bus shelters are going up here

Really hope LA can get these solar-powered lights across more of the city. This is on the G Line Bike Path. It’s so disappointing riding along here at night knowing it should be well-lit 😔

Don’t know what construction work LA did here but at least it looks like they removed the benches for a reason and not for the sake of fucking over transit riders

#ZGMFeedChangelog
- The following LA neighborhoods and LA area cities now have additional filters: Bunker Hill, North Hills, University Park, Valley Village, Westwood, Winnetka, Signal Hill, and Downey
- Green Meadows was removed as a tracked neighborhood (idk how this survived this long tbh)

Oh hey, @fishestrella.bsky.social, your North Hollywood trash pickup for tomorrow morning got mentioned on NoHo Nick’s TikTok, he posts about events happening around the Valley.

Everyone go help cleanup the park tomorrow if you can!

I went to yet another meeting for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor and they seriously pulled up a slide about a fucking car wash and a parking garage as a significant cultural resource loss. CEQA desperately needs reformed! #LA #Urbanism+

LA urbanism nerds! This evening is the last informational session on the Sepulveda Transit Corridor's DEIR in Sherman Oaks at 5:30pm!

With Metrolink's swift response, ridership on what is now the Antelope Valley Line (then it was the Santa Clarita Line) went from ~1000 daily riders to ~22,000 riders in a single week! This lead to Palmdale/Lancaster getting service 10 yrs earlier than initially planned!
