I used to think that was a bad thing.

Today my therapist told me “a lof of my other late diagnosed neurodivergent clients struggle w/ feelings of happiness because it’s so foreign to them” and I laughed. hard. It was funny like getting hit in the humerus; there’s pain there but it got under my skin. Funniest thing I’ve heard in awhile

So many leaders and officials failed us, the scope is really staggering when you think about it. The list keeps growing the longer I consider it

The part of George Orwell’s 1984 that everyone forgets is how the music and publishing industries have been replaced by a machine that spits out songs and bad novels “without any human intervention.” The goal is to keep you from ever having to think.

I wonder what my grade school self would think if I told him that civics class would end up being the most useless subject, not math or English. That the richest man in the world just buys the government in 2025 and hucks it all out the window.

I'm glad that America is doing real classic end of empire stuff. A king who is visibly losing his mind declaring a war based on a dream he had. Greedy courtiers feuding over access to the treasury. Some looks are timeless.

A lot of the old dystopian novels seem positively whimsical now. Reading Vonnegut and thinking, “Yeah man, I wish.”
