This whole miserable affair could have a silver lining in that it's dragged Gibb out of the shadows and into the spotlight.
I suspect many more people now know about him and his entrenched bias and control-freakery than was the case this time last week.
Bectu, the biggest union in the BBC, has written to Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy and Chair of the BBC Board Samir Shah demanding the removal of Robbie Gibb from the BBC Board.

"Many BBC staff are concerned that Gibb is a direct block to the BBC maintaining its chartered objective of independence."

Ultimately, politics is about making hard choices and leading.

Sure, easy for me to say, but you won’t get there by focusing only on just the one selective bit of public opinion you fear today.

To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?

1. Left and liberal voters actually really exist
2. The right and "centre" are trying to rule without liberals - they are way out over their skis
3. Reports of right wing total information control are greatly exaggerated

Labour have increased public spending on services by £69.5 billion in the last budget.

There has been an increase in capital spending, public sector pay, benefits & day to day spending.

To imply that they haven’t is a simple barefaced lie.

Two pieces on the BBC mess. One by @lewisgoodall.com includes this key line. The other, by Hannah Barnes in the @newstatesman1913.bsky.social, doesn't even touch on it, instead offering the kind of concern trolling about 'BBC standards' you'd expect from The Times. What a mess that mag has become.

The worst you can accuse Panorama of doing is making a misleading edit – and I’d dispute that! – to make *a point that was true*.

The programme aired without anyone seeing any issues with the edit. It was on iPlayer for a year without complaints. Donald Trump *did* incite Jan 6th.
Tory culture spox demanding the BBC "grovel" to Trump is baffling. Who is this supposed to chime with?

Just a bizarre line that no one who doesn't use X would ever think.
