I am an old man, @mozilla.org, and I was happy to sit in my rocking chair and use Firefox until sunset. But if you insist on choking this browser with GenAI bloat, I will face God and walk backwards into Linux.
@mozilla.org I have been using Firefox for YEARS. Not sure what the new CEO is hoping to achieve by "AI everything now" but if the hope is to drive people like me off your browser, you will surely succeed.

Glad to see people talking about Penn Jillette. The 2024 interview was done by me. I found him to be a refreshingly reflective, self-critical individual who has remained curious and willing to evolve.

It's kind of stupid how often this happens. I suspect that a lot of liberals who don't see themselves as centrists automatically assume that "Liberal" = "The Left", and anyone who disagrees with them must be on the right, because it's easier than trying to understand *why* they disagree.
Liberals/centrists/moderated:

When you attack someone coming from a compassionate position by calling them conservative, you're telling us your empathy is performative and you don't actually understand it at all.

Unlike the others, GOG said this. Also unlike the others, GOG is not American and thus has access to payment providers beyond just visa and mastercard.

A little annoyed that the Nextcloud Talk High-performance backend's article appears to be locked behind a subscription. It's not clear to me if this is intended to be an enterprise feature or not.

I was hoping to use this as a discord alternative with my friend group for D&D but now not so sure.

Fact-checking one of the single most effective convincing-sounding lie generation machines = trying to sweep the ocean back into the sea (or capture emissions after they're released)

We don't solve this without regulating, attacking and delegitimising the slop firehose
Laughing in high school teacher.

“I will allow my son to use ChatGPT and similar tools at some point. But when I do, I plan to show him how to fact-check the sources the A.I. has provided, and make sure he understands that computers often ‘learn‘ the wrong thing from online sources.”

I must be a special kind of out of touch if the only people I hear talking about 67 are the ones claiming to not understand it.

Wow, props to Paizo for using a Double Opt-In for promos. On checkout I clicked a checkbox because I did indeed want updates on future offers (especially since Starfinder 2 is still new) and the email I recieved wanted to confirm that's actually what I want.

Finally able to place an order on the Paizo store, now that it's been updated to something that works in current millennium.

I just learned that googling yourself has VERY different feeling to it when there is an AI summary involved.

This has always been a pretty interesting subject to, and for game devs this is definitely one of those places where you can establish a pattern and then break it in fun ways.
YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT! I HAVE WRITTEN A NEW ARTICLE!

this one's a bit weird; rather than doing my usual "trying to organize my thoughts and building a winding case that builds on itself," I decided to show you what my EARLY article creation process looks like:

docseuss.medium.com/some-loosely...
some loosely organized thoughts about dialogue sysin games
think of this as me trying to find out what parts of dialogue choices are load bearing game design and what else can be done with dialogue.

Bitcoin is still a problem, folks
It got overshadowed by the pipeline news, but NYS’s deal to allow Greenidge Generation to keep operating an upstate gas plant *for the sole purpose of mining bitcoin* might be almost as big of a reversal gothamist.com/news/upstate...
Upstate NY Bitcoin mine agrees to slash emissions, will get air permit from the state
The move comes days after Hochul’s administration paved the way for a new natural gas pipeline in New York Harbor.
