NEW: Judge William Young's ruling against Rubio and Noem is a lesson for all in the Trump era.

Young lays bare the unconstitutionality of the Trump administration's student deportation efforts — and issues a challenge to America.

“When men help out more at home, fertility rates rise

Nations where women spend several hours more than men on child rearing and household chores have the lowest fertility rates among high-income countries.”

Update: I offered this simple amendment in the Appropriations Committee to say no President can withhold funds from a college to try to control their speech.

Failed 14-15. Every Republican voted to endorse Trump’s censorship.
Ok I’m offering another amendment right now in the Appropriations Committee to stop Trump’s corruption.

This one says the Department of Education can’t cancel funding for a college just because professors or students hold views Trump doesn’t like.

Again, stay tuned.

Update: I offered the amendment. Not to refuse acceptance of the Qatari jet; just to prohibit Trump from taking it with him when he leaves office - after the taxpayers spend $1 billion to retrofit it.

Failed 14-15. Every single Republican voted to allow Trump to take the jet.
The fight against corruption has to be ceaseless.

Today in the Appropriations Committee, I will offer an amendment to prohibit the Qatari jet that was gifted to Trump (which is going to cost taxpayers $1 billion) from being transferred to him personally.

Stay tuned.

They are destroying science.

And that will destroy lives.
NEW: In an unprecedented move, the NIH will soon disinvite dozens of scientists about to take positions on advisory councils that make final decisions on grant funding.

NIH staff were told to select others aligned with the Trump administration and told to expect placements by political appointees.
Exclusive: NIH to dismiss dozens of grant reviewers to align with Trump priorities
The move would undo years of work, leaving advisory councils understaffed, and without the full expertise needed for reviews.

Not much here is actually new but this is a very good overview of DOGE, which can only now be viewed as a failure on its own terms and a catastrophe on any other terms www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...
What Did Elon Musk Accomplish at DOGE?
Even before Musk fell out with Donald Trump, the agency’s projected savings had plummeted. But he nevertheless managed to inflict lasting damage to the federal government.
