So happy to host you & Alex tonight! What a great event! ☺️
Standing room only for Alex Gonzalez’s book release of his debut novel REKT at Word Bookstore. Such a lovely guy, which is strange, given how utterly depraved (and heartbreaking) this book is. Read it. Please. @wordbookstores.bsky.social @erewhonbooks.bsky.social

Great advice! In the north Jersey / NYC area, I recommend @wordbookstores.bsky.social, with locations in Jersey City and Greenpoint, Brooklyn. If you haven't been to JC in a while, note that Word moved from its former spot along the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Zone to McWilliams Place in Hamilton Park.
Since giving up the Amazon habit, I've found it just as easy to shop at my local bookstore in Napa. The website works v. well.

Now I will struggle to remember where I heard these recommendations.

One way to make sure your local governments protect the right to read is to...join your local government! Here's an inspiring profile of three librarians running for office.
What Would It Look Like If Librarians Ran the Government Instead of These Fools?
Librarians are growing sick of censoring and defunding — so they’re running for office.
