This website already sucked to use and is actively getting worse, so I again encourage my mutuals to DM me for my mastodon or discord if they wish to keep in touch with me. I'm actively trying to post here less and largely limiting my activity to reposts. Peace.

Need an analog to the “police passive” for this kind of description of sexually abusive men “being Me Tooed”—as if they were merely caught in a storm, their own actions and behavior irrelevant to their outcomes. Call it the predator passive.
When you write the whole piece around the idea of “MeToo” as an adequate description of what caused specific men to lose specific positions, and when you do this incredibly weird cutesy business to avoid *mentioning what happened*, you do a disservice to readers.

I can reassure the New York Times that networks of mutual protection, and misogynist retaliation efforts that benefit abusive men at the expense of the young women they prey upon, are very much still intact post-Me Too.
This is nauseating: “As the emails stretch through the years, they show how that protected realm vanished into the mists of time, pulled under by the rising forces of the internet and the #MeToo movement.” A “Gone With the Wind” framing for sexual abuse and harassment.
Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

domestic abuse, sexual violence, etc is virtually unprosecuted because it isn't *in practice,* a crime at all--it's the exercise of legitimate force by the person who holds the right to govern, over and against the person who must BE governed.

while I am glad the new Pope is pro immigration, important to point out that the American Catholic Church has its sights set on killing my friends
Many people dismissed the announcement Catholic hospitals will ban gender-affirming care nationwide under the assumption that there will be other options. In reality, Catholic hospitals make up as much 46% of options in some states. This map is 2020, prior to Trump’s assault on safety net hospitals.

It’s wild that you can just openly bribe the President of the United States with chunks of gold to get
whatever you want, it’s fine, you don’t have to hide it, just say “I am bribing the President with gold,” zero consequences.

we need to eradicate "parental rights". children are their own people and not the property of their parents
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

there is a haunting familiarity to me in everything that comes out about epstein's associates. for every child or teenage victim of abuse there is a seemingly endless number of adults who probably saw something was wrong and could have chosen to intervene but didn't

when you understand that patriarchy views children as sexual property it all makes sense. there's no hypocrisy. exposure to queerness & transness threatens to "corrupt" the father's property, to "lead them astray" into self-determination, to taint their future sexual value. CSA is permissible as >
Thatcher's government did this with Section 28, banned the "promotion of homosexuality" as a danger to children, while actively protecting Jimmy Savile and who knows how many other pedophiles. It's the same damn playbook.
I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power
