Something I've really noticed among institutional "responses" to generative technologies is that "DO NOT USE THIS TOOL, IT'S COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE" is fudamentally erased from any possibility of ever being an option

Often paired with fatalist stuff like "this isn't going away"

They fired every Black woman at Teen Vogue and every trans staffer.

It is astonishing watching the American media ecosystem just falling like dominoes, bowing its knees to fascism.
thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

The article takes a while to get to this observation: "Several audience members identified themselves as being part of the Dominion Society, a Canadian anti-immigration group that seeks to deport between four and eight million people living in Canada through what it calls 'remigration.'"
The Conservatives have launched their Charlie Kirk imitation tour.
In a fluff piece, CBC casually mentions that it it supported by youth from a group demanding the forcible deportation of millions from Canada.
CBC presents it as "counter culture."
No.
That's hate.

The attack on @frediotto.bsky.social was seeded years ago by Roger Pielke Jr, who started arguing that this table from a recent @ipcc.bsky.social report proved that climate science cannot attribute extreme weather to climate change.

But Roger is of course lying. And we know this for 2 reasons.
