I just saw multiple professional people in a business meeting ask if a capybara was a real animal.

New bass day! It's a Danelectro Rumor from the early 2000s, a very cheap bass at the time but with a built-in chorus effect and sparkly red paint.

It's decently made for a fairly cheap guitar and plays pretty well after some new strings and a home setup.

door holding also causes an operator to have to call in for support so they can get lunch and bathroom breaks. They have to maintain a schedule and that schedule is tight for breaks. So don’t hold a door. Let the operator have a good day of work. (3/3)

If you're looking to buy a classic car you might think to shop in the spring, but you can get better deals now, when people are dreading paying for another year of winter storage.

Tearing down part of the White House is a particularly depressing thing, out of the many atrocities these idiots have committed. I just can’t believe there’s no due process for preventing that from happening in the first place.

The twist of the knife here is the e-bike story. Last year, 479 people died in vehicle crashes in Minnesota, and tens of thousands more are injured annually. We’d be in a much better situation if the same pearl-clutching happened for that.
You can count The Minnesota Star Tribune among the Sunday newspapers that did not put protest news on the front page

Here’s the thing: it sucks to ride on sidewalks. If anyone over 12 is biking on a sidewalk it’s an infrastructure failure.
Hit by an e-bike, she can no longer taste or smell. Cities are trying to protect pedestrians like her.
After hearing Janet Stotko’s story, the city of Hastings passed an ordinance prohibiting e-bikes on sidewalks.

Not being even vaguely sarcastic:

At some point, a journalist needs to ask Johnson “you regularly claim you have no idea what your own government is doing. If we take you at your word, how are you so poorly informed, and do you this level of ignorance should disqualify you as speaker?”
Q: What's your message to the 170 US citizens who have been detained by ICE? About 20 of them are children

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know what you're talking about with the children. I haven't seen that so I'm not going to comment on it.

If you're going into a bunker for the presumed apocalypse, you don't want to spend that time locked up with the worst twats on the planet
www.bbc.com/news/article...

"I once met a former bodyguard of one billionaire with his own "bunker", who told me his security team's first priority, if this really did happen, would be to eliminate said boss and get in the bunker themselves. And he didn't seem to be joking."
Tech billionaires seem to be doom prepping. Should we be worried?

I played in the Entry that night! Our band was Flood, and I remember crossing over to see who was in the mainroom and being underwhelmed. I later became a big fan but never got to see them play again.
On this date: October 14, 1991. Nirvana played at First Avenue approximately three weeks after “Nevermind” was released.
