Haha yesss. Japanese copyright law doesn't fuck around.

Since I get challenged on this a lot: U.S. and Japan are both Berne Convention signatories, meaning the copyright is recognized between countries. They CAN go after American companies. And they are. And I love it.

I've been sitting here struggling to figure out what to call the non-humans in this story, since everything in English has the wrong connotations, and Icelandic is out here doing this 👏👏👏 I need to free my mind and get on their level
In Icelandic we have 'Ókind' for monster. But the translation is un-sheep. So everything not a sheep is dangerous.

It was already on "warn" for me but you may want to check your settings. (I left it on "warn" because I absolutely want to see what they're doing with this. If I ever get labeled "rude" please tell me, it will make my ENTIRE day)
If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

Well...we did manage to hang on to our all-Democratic city council, I guess. That's something?
NEW: Voters didn’t just elect a socialist mayor in New York City.

They also voted in progressive candidates in several of the state’s largest cities, flipped county legislatures blue, and chose a new Democratic assemblymember in US Representative Elise Stefanik’s backyard.
It’s Not Just Mamdani: Progressives Rack Up Victories Upstate
Working Families Party–backed candidates flipped county legislatures, won big-city mayoralties, and secured an Assembly seat in Elise Stefanik’s backyard.

You have to have changed your main fandom platform at least four times AND you must have at least three fandom-related subjects that cause an overwhelming wave of exhaustion to hit you whenever people start arguing over them
what constitutes a fandom-elder and when do you hit that milestone? is it by age? or through years of service? or is it something indefinable and ungraspable?

The cover of A Philosophy of Thieves by Fran Wilde, which features a masked female character leaping with style from an ornate window. I received this as an eARC via NetGalley. This is a delightful YA heist novel. Roosa Carnarvier (Vane) and her family are professional thieves, who, in post-apocalyptic Washington DC, perform heists (with strict contracts and rules) as entertainment for the wealthy.

PLEASE vote in local elections–mayors (of small towns, even), board members, etc. They have a direct effect on your life AND are currently the last line of defense against destructive federal policies. In many places so few people vote for city council etc. that your 1 vote can change the result

microwave/bake sweet potato, split/fluff/mash, cheese on top (goat cheese is A+ but the price range is huge)

frozen mirepoix is cheap & useful, e.g. sautee in big pot, add broth and soy sauce/other flavorings, boil frozen dumplings in broth until done. For flavor++/veg++ also use a jar of kimchi
IT IS TIME FOR BLUESKY RECIPE POSTING

do you have a cheap, healthy, low-cost recipe? post it here! or quote tweet this post. or dunk on me for something I don't care just post easy meals that people can make right now.
