Oh! It's #PortfolioDay? Who decides that? How does one know in advance? 😅

I'm a dorky comics illustrator who also enjoys poster and album designs, or anything else related to visual storytelling. I work primarily in ink and watercolor. Let us be dorks together 💖

As I was saying about the fae...
Amoral, consuming entities that delight in exploiting loopholes, in extracting mathematically impossible amounts of unpaid labor, etc.

This is normal now. It's no longer a thing of folklore and legend to have a mindbogglingly vast being destroy your life on a whim without even noticing.

How neat! I've had a chance to go to the Adventurers' Hall a few times with my dad's best friend Richard, who served as its governor for a time. Sketching the beams gave me a better understanding of how they were assembled, which makes for more convincing designs when I draw that sort of thing now.
You are building a guild hall in 1357.

What materials are you going to need?

60 trees from Bolton Percy for 27s. 6d., 100 oaks from Thorpe Underwood for £21, 14 tons of stone from Tadcaster and 20,000 bricks for £6 from the Carmelite Friars of York.

That should keep you going!

Hey, I'm looking for comics and graphic novels *by* Indigenous writers and/or illustrators, especially in the Americas. Doesn't have to be a recent book. Any genre! Any topic, any themes, does not have to be a memoir or history, though that is welcome too!

Libraries purchase books. When you see a book at the library, it isn’t “free”

the library bought it.

which in turn means that the community bought it.

In other words, library books are not lost sales for authors and publishers; they’re positive sales. Active sales. Those are bought.

Well, this is cut to be ✨MOST DRAMATIQUE✨. V would not wish it to be any other way, and it's great. 💖

Daaaang 20 years though 🫠 I wish it was in theaters now; the applicability!!! But the whole 1-year delay thing is very on theme. 🎭

There is something really wrong with people who need workers to be not just competent, but slavishly fake-happy. "Slavishly" used on purpose, bc that's where this grotesquerie comes from.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

This has not gotten much attention, but it should.

Virginia under Youngkin returned to an insanely harsh system where people convicted of any felony lose their voting rights FOR LIFE.

Dems' win this week mean they'll get to advance a constitutional amendment to end lifetime disenfranchisement.

I don't think it helps the debate about what Democrats should do to pick an obscure thing that some Democrat somewhere may have said -- like on teaching eighth grade algebra -- and then attribute it to Democrats generally.
