Should we return to the era of direct great power conflict that led to hundreds of millions of people dying? Yeah idk seems like a bad idea

I’ve spent years of my life trying to explain to people that anti-trans conservatism naturally flows from their belief that children in the American nuclear family are not individuals with autonomy, but instead property of the parents and state, and this guy just… tweeted it out

The correct question
I asked why the Albanese Government hasn't rejected Trump's invitation to join his so-called "Board of Peace."

The UK, France, New Zealand, Germany & others have refused to join, because it is cooked.

Minister Wong says Labor is still considering the invite. What's to consider?

Every cyclist experiences this.
In every city. Good infrastructure gives way to scary, uncomfortable, dangerous. It's why people don't ride bikes everywhere. They don't line having the sh!t scared of of them. Also they don't want their 5 & 12 year olds to get killed, nor their grandparents.

@kels316.bsky.social this Chinese electric bus has what appears to be a pretty basic dashboard. A voltmeter, temperature, tachometer, and speedo. I don't know what's on the LCD, but I'm taking this as it's possible to make a simple EV after all.

"They bought or inherited aging apartment buildings, hoping to bring home a little extra cash"

... bought, or inherited, whole ass apartment buildings
In a city packed with mighty real estate titans, they are the small ones.

New York landlords say they are at their breaking point as Mayor Zohran Mamdani begins to implement even more aggressive tenant-friendly policies.
NYC’s small landlords say they won’t survive Mamdani plan to freeze rent
New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani has criticized landlords and vowed to freeze what tenants in rent-stabilized apartments pay monthly.

No-one under the age of 18 seems to say "look it up" anymore. This battle was lost before i even knew it was a battle
Thing my sons say that I irrationally hate: "search it up"

Not "look it up"
Or "search for it"

But some unholy frankenphrasing of the two

What makes me procrastinate?
The fear I won't do the story justice.
The fear I won't accurately represent what has happened. The more painful the events, the harder it is.
The fear I won't write in a way that makes people read.
Sometimes you just have to start writing.

I'd like experts to talk about the cognitive load AI forces even non-AI users to take on, because we're now forced to filter through scads of junk info daily without the social and structural supports that once guided us. The decision fatigue alone could be causing serious social and health fallout.

I am a historian who has written about insurgencies. This is true.
The irony in militaristic terms is that the bovino maga set are buying themselves into a classic counter insurgency trap (everyone who lives in the place you're occupying and laying siege to hates you and will give aid without question to anyone who looks likely to have a chance at fucking you up).
these guys are LARPing like siege commanders talking about "supply lines"

rightoids literally cannot comprehend the idea of a community caring for their own; these people live in Minneapolis their supply line is a five minute drive to the grocery store

Last week the reporter finally asked for it back because he is headed to Minneapolis.
