A special prosecutor? Not Senate confirmed? Like Jack Smith? Didn't Trump, Clarence Thomas, and Judge Aileen Cannon say that was unconstitutional?

Where I come from, we call this Medicare fraud.

(Where I come from = public health sector health systems specialist - the job I had before Trump ousted me during his first term. Part of my job was to seek and destroy rich people that would overcharge the VA for medical devices.)
Trump delayed the rollout of a Biden rule that sought to prevent abusive Medicare pricing practices from private companies — after Trump PAC MAGA Inc. received a $5 million donation from one such company that stood to lose out on billions in earnings due to the rule. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/07/u...

Some of the most pro-Trump coverage NYTimes has ever done.

On Epstein, they chose to adopt Trump's transparently disingenuous framing, treating a "grand jury records" stalling tactic as openness—he's trying to hide the rest—and presenting an obvious lie of "prepared to defer to the courts" as real.

EPSTEIN-Trump is playing games. He’s seeking disclosure of grand jury material but that requires court approval which the law is VERY hard to satisfy. But the government TODAY can disclose all the other investigative material on its own without court approval. Why isn’t it doing that?

“Who made the decision to reassign hundreds of New York Field Office personnel to this March review of Epstein-related records?” Durbin asked in his letters.

“Why were personnel told to flag records in which President Trump was mentioned?” he asked.

“The FBI has no comment.”
What we can discern from this is that, even though the base has willed itself into believing Trump couldn't possibly be in the Epstein files, Kash Patel and Dan Bongino knew full well he's likely all over them.

Another aspect of the emergency order DeSantis is misusing to seize the land where immigrants are being detained in the Everglades is that he is also using it to award multi-million dollar contracts to politically connected vendors without a competitive bidding process.
How did a Jacksonville consulting firm land a $78M contract for critical services at ‘Alligator Alcatraz’?
It’s not clear how Critical Response Strategies landed the work or whether it previously handled managing a detention facility. However, staffers from the firm have a visible presence at the center.

Republicans will not extend the subsidies that started during the COVID-19 pandemic. There could be more consequences because of the ugly bill.

A new analysis shows that health insurance premiums for Obamacare are set to soar next year, as financial help that subsidized the cost expires. Congress is not likely to extend the subsidies.

From the perspective of a former prosecutive who worked on trafficking cases, the loss of this office can only be intended to make it easier for the traffickers. There is literally no rationale for doing this.

This country acts like it likes entrepreneurs and then pulls away the health insurance entrepreneurs need to be self-employed.

They don’t want entrepreneurs. They want slave labor. Work for them or die.

What a fucking joke.
