pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

For the record I saw They Live in the theatre when it was originally released

In a year that was so political, the predictable happened.

L.A. was screaming for help in 2025 after devastating fires and violent immigration raids. But the Dodgers kept doing business with Big Oil and wouldn't stand up for Latino communities: www.climatecoloredgoggles.com/p/dodgers-wi...
The Dodgers keep winning. But Los Angeles is losing
Baseball and politics collided in 2025. Temperatures are rising, and Trump is fanning the flames.

Reading We Breed Lions by @rickwesthead.bsky.social is hard and necessary, and might even make you look at hockey a little differently. And especially in a country that rarely wants to hear bad news about hockey, it should be a reminder that we need to do better. www.thestar.com/sports/hocke...

So this week @nickashbourne.bsky.social and I talk about the playoff ride, an instant classic of a World Series, and heartbreaking defeat.

again, this is evil.
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email
