IMPORTANT: The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart governments do the math on investing in better mobility.

Let’s be clearβ€” it wastes public money to NOT do it.

'A new era': Victoria takes historic step on treaty with First Peoples
Victoria's historic treaty is promising to "reckon with the past" and empower the state's First Peoples β€” and explicitly declares it will not take anything away from the broader community.

My bike is in the shop for repair. Boy do I miss it, the part is coming from the other side of the world, it's small and cheap yet vital. I'm glad I can ride my partner's bike in the meantime.

Plastics "recycling" is largely bullshit & has been for >50 years

It's β€œfurther proof that the plastics industry has been actively deceiving the public for decades about the recyclability of plastics” says @davisallen.bsky.social.

Passing cyclists on rural roads while driving can be tricky. I've been both the driver and the cyclist countless times. On a recent trip to San Juan Island, I was passenger in a car as we came up on a group of riders on a narrow road.

Here's how I coached the driver to pass them safely...
