Well done 👏🏽

Watched Casablanca last night with friends to give myself a little break.

Somehow, it feels hopeful to watch a WW2 movie about resistance that came out BEFORE the nazis were defeated. We forget that unlike movies, we don’t know the end of this story.

WE get to make the ending ourselves.

When I left the Washington Post in 2023, my colleagues and I were worried AI would hoover up our work and enable "zombies" to churn out stories based on our reporting and writing styles.

Today WaPo announced a partnership with OpenAI. And here it is: Zombie Gillian Brockell. I DID NOT WRITE THIS.

I am sincerely moved by Sen. Van Hollen. Sometimes Members of Congress do stuff that is brave. I didn’t say this while he was there, but it kind of reminded me of Rep. Leo Ryan in 1978.

We need more MOCs to show the same spine for their constituents. We do NOT accept our neighbors being disappeared

Really feel like we all have to talk more explicitly and repeatedly about Stephen Miller as the actual Shadow President because that is what he is, he is almost certainly running the vast majority of day-to-day stuff and is responsible for much of the worst of it

RFK Jr. says there are no autistic poets, so we interviewed one.

Hear from Elizabeth McClellan, @popelizbet.bsky.social, an award-winning poet, attorney, and legal educator based in Memphis, Tennessee.
RFK Jr. says there aren't autistic poets. We asked an autistic poet.
"I will challenge RFK Jr. to write a poem as good as me any day of the week."

There are so many ambitious Democratic lawmakers who apparently don't understand how fast their star would rise with tangible, direct actions.

Before this week, Sen. Van Hollen was largely known only to Maryland voters and professional political circles.

Now, the country knows his name. That fast.

i have no doubt that senator van hollen was genuinely concerned for the safety and welfare of abrego garcia BUT ALSO this is what i'm talking about when i say POLITICAL AMBITION. van hollen may well make himself a household name and nationally recognized political figure with this move

Hearing talk of executive orders targeting nonprofits. We could see the targeting of nonprofit status for orgs that advocate for LGBTQ people and immigrants. This would spell the end of civil society.

RFK Jr.’s lies about autism are disgraceful — and I won't share them to spread misinformation.

He consistently undermines public health and reinforces dangerous myths.

In Illinois, we stand with those with autism, and I’ll keep fighting for inclusion, science, and the truth.

I’ve got a lot of problems w/what RFK Jr says here—but worst is his description of people on the autism spectrum as unable to contribute.

This is the Trump admin’s war on diversity: if you’re not their version of “perfect,” you’re not worthy.

Thanks to Holly Robinson Pete, for setting it straight.

I read a lot of court documents, and I like to highlight some from time to time that really encapsulate the moment we find ourselves in. The latest from the 4th Circuit does it perfectly.

Meanwhile, Dems like Newsom are doing podcasts with fascists.

Make it make sense.
