…is the ‘spilled blood’ in the room with you right now, congressman?
Ogles: "It's important that we have a stake in Greenland, that they are quite frankly a protectorate of the US. They've been in relationship with Denmark - that needs to end. We've spilled more blood protecting Greenland than the Danes... we are the dominant predator force in the Western Hemisphere"

The left liberal block is comfortably ahead now, 48-45. The UK is not actually in a bad place politically, if we had a proportional system we would say things were at least as healthy as France or Germany. Our only problem is that the Labour Party is determined to "hold its nerve".
Latest YouGov Westminster voting intention (4-5 January 2026)

Reform UK: 26% (+1 from 21-22 Dec 2025)
Conservative: 19% (=)
Labour: 17% (-3)
Lib Dem: 16% (+1)
Green: 15% (=)

If you missed this question to Nigel Farage from The Critic's Rob Hutton – and it was over an hour into the press conference – then it was a particularly good one. The answer was... vague.

You have to admit though, Farage's 'I'm an open racist who spouts hate for his own country while taking backhanders from grifters, foreign agitators and a child porn producer' strategy has worked wonders for him so far.

Hugo works hard to launder rightwing poison as normal sensible politics, but here he has to look it in the eye as he is told Farage's antisemitism - actual race hatred for people like him, not sophistry employed to let a rogue state off the hook - is just an idle concern of the upper middle classes.
Farage tells @hugorifkind.bsky.social that accusations that he hissed gas sounds at Jewish students at school are a concern of "those that live in London and the upper middle classes".

Where might a gang of US Nazi chuds have got the impression that Britain is ruled by an immovable class of Bolshevik Islamist sex criminals who jail whole swathes of the populace for thinking? Well, if they lived here, they could easily have got it from the news stand in Asda.

I wish they talked about how unsuccessful Miller has been.

"Stephen Miller ordered ICE to snatch 3,000 people a day. He has failed to meet that order, but the order has led to an emphasis on non-criminal long-term residents rather than violent criminals."
I think that Stephen Miller's ascendance in the US govt. is a major development so am really glad to see this coverage from @katierogersnyt.bsky.social

Miller is motivated by the goal of mass deportations & now exerts extraordinary foreign policy authority

PSA: twitter, X, is doing new terms of service that basically make it so that any comtent you share on there including DMs and photos is theirs and they can use it for "any purpose" including commercial use.

So, if you have a page you’ve left up and don’t want them there’s time to act 1/

What did we think its years of furiously denouncing "multiculturalism" were about, exactly?
I thought that I’d misheard when this was advertised on Times Radio. Clearly I hadn’t. What is going on at The Times?

Get. Off. X.

This isn’t a moral thing. This is a protecting yourself thing. If you go over there to “verify” something and end up inadvertently viewing and thus downloading illegal images, you have – pay attention now – downloaded illegal images
so if Grok was a humanoid robot, at this point we'd simply take it behind the shed and blow its positronic 'brains' out

and everyone — including Asimov, rolling about in his grave — would agree that's the only sane and safe thing to do
Went to check if this screenshot (posted by @aric.bsky.social) was real (it is) and then made the mistake of also scrolling through Grok's replies on X. Still constantly cranking out sexualised images of young girls. Beyond bleak.

Curtis Yarvin has written a very long screed in defense of his post in which he said, “Hitler spoke the truth.”

A sampling of select portions is below and includes, in reference to Jewish people, the words:

“The only way to tell is the name and the nose.”

It would basically come at close to zero cost for outlets like Bloomberg to delete their X accounts, and "We don't want to use a non-consensual deepfake abuse app as a comms platform" is a fine excuse

People who fancy quoting the Melian Dialogue ("the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must") ignore the fact that Thucydides was clearly portraying this as the kind of hubris that squandered Athens' primacy and paved the way for a devastating peer war that it ultimately lost.

three-quarters of the profoundly unpleasant people interviewed for this story aren’t just people i would never date, they’re people i would never voluntarily speak to
