Baseball fan. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Hard to pin down a worst”or most shameless part of the WH J6 anniversary propaganda page, but describing these three people as having been “killed” that day is wild

(they died of an amphetamine overdose, heart disease, and heart disease, respectively)

HOW DO U THINK MADURO GOT ON THE HELICOPTER, SENATOR? TELEPORTATION?
But Shaheen says the Trump admin WOULD need congressional approval to put boots on the ground to run Venezuela:

“Yes — and I think that’s a nonstarter.”

The targeting of Senator Kelly with spurious accusations and chickenshit administrative lawfare should be called out for the rank partisan nonsense that it is

…but this framing sucks. Sorry, it does.
Four generations of my family have served our country. Service is in my blood. The President wouldn’t know anything about that.

10 USC § 1370(f) normally is used for misconduct or fraud or administrative errors that occur BEFORE someone retires, except for the catch-all bit at the end of this part. It assumes the applicable Secretary will interpret “good cause” appropriately.

if Cuba had killed 32 Americans in the process of abducting the head of state of some third country, we’d empty the magazine of the USS RHODE ISLAND into Havana
OSINT: The Government of Cuba has announced that 32 Cubans were killed in the recent military operation by the United States to capture Venezuelan President President Nicolás Maduro, most of which were likely part of the security team protecting Maduro. 2 days of mourning have been declared in Cuba.

I used to help draft the Article 51 letters for the US government.

This dog's breakfast of nonsense from USUN is just embarrassing.

The US government has no plausible self defense claim for its unlawful attack on Venezuela.

My encounter with refusing orders wasn’t in combat, it was in an office—

BOSS: hey make a ‘trip book’ like we do for the [4-star] commander, but for his spouse, that has things like good places to shop in [foreign capital city]

ME: that sounds like using .gov resources for personal benefit sooo no
The usual illegal order is something quite pedestrian like "spend the money anyway."

The thing about disobeying illegal orders is that it usually will not result in a pat on the back and everyone applauding. You will likely be prosecuted and have to fight it out in court.
A problem is that if it's ok for Johnny Goodgeneral to overrule DOJ/POTUS on legality of orders, you also get Mike Flynn or Jerry Boykin rejecting orders on vaccines, allowing gay service, escorting kids in Little Rock, or saying Obama is Kenyan and not really President

Another effect of Congress failing to reign in the executive using the 2001 AUMF as a green light to target all “terrorists” anywhere, when it very much does not say that at all.

Repealing & replacing that with more specificity would be pretty straightforward Day 1 thing

lmao okay sure

I guess that answers who the token law enforcement along for the ride was
Trump just released a photo of Maduro blindfolded “on board the USS Iwo Jima.”

If Congress is to survive as an institution, the Republican majority must join us exercising our power to hold this administration accountable for this flagrant violation of the constitution.

Not the main thing ofc, but indicting a foreign head of state for conspiring to possess a machine gun is low key hilarious.

So fmr Honduran President Hernandez voluntarily surrendered, and was duly extradited, tried and convicted for drug trafficking, and Trump pardoned him 6w ago.

And this morning, Trump illegally attacks Venezuela and abducts its president and his wife purportedly to try them for drug trafficking.

the chinos + quarter-zip sweater were a good start! but pairing those with running shoes is what elevates “likely” to “almost certainly” (the assault pack and garment bag are cheating and thus excluded)
