When Trump posted an AI video of himself flying a jet and bombing Americans with feces, the media decided it was no big deal. Why? Because he’s been bombing us with feces for a decade, and the media are used to it.

This is my senior senator, whom I've supported forever, and he's soiled himself forever.
Dick Durbin on critics of Sunday night's shutdown deal, agreed to by eight Senate Dems:

"Some people need to understand how the Senate works."

Do those people include the 39 Dem Senate caucus members who voted against it? The House minority leader? The chair of the DNC?

Call me cynical, but I’ll stop laughing when I see Tim Cook wearing one of these in public. Guessing the YouTube reviews are going to be something else.

SNAP embarrassed him. So now he's against SNAP. SNAP is now the James Comey of government assistance programs.
President Trump criticized the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) during a Fox News interview tonight, saying people "get it automatically now so the number is many times what it should be, it's disgraceful."
Trump says "we can reform" SNAP
"SNAP is supposed to be if you are down and out," Trump said on Fox News this evening.

They threw everything away and gained nothing —the largest protest in history, the elections sweep, the support and good will of so many Americans. Just unforgivable.

1/6 🧵A newsletter subscriber messaged: "Yes, I get the implications. What I don’t get, specifically why in that moment when they were dealing with a strong hand, those eight Democrats broke rank and caved"

Here you go...a very simple explanation:

If you think people are angry here and other socials at the GOP AND the Democratic capitulators, I hear from a very good source the anger inside the capitol within both parties is just as intense.

Too bad all of that anger here and there won't do much. It needs to be in the streets. #politics

Even the Dem centrists at Third Way are mad about the deal moderate Senate Dems cut with Republicans to end the shutdown:

There will be another 60 vote Friday* on the garbage shutdown deal. If we can convince just one Senator from the 52 republicans and 8 Dems that voted yes to flip, we could still stop this. Please jump on the phone today, call them, and share this widely.

I'll always remember where I was when moderate Senate Democrats bravely gazed into the steely eyes of lying authoritarians and said, "Well, you all seem reasonable, let's get some stuff done! Hey, is that the prison where you're locking up your political opponents? Cool! Can we check it out?"
