He of the eponymous law. FRSA. Good at writing and sums. Degrowther, and not a fan of capitalism. Your pal. The Eye of Sauron, but for headlines. Made by socialism and immigration, which seems to annoy people. Come for the headlines, stay for the Gramsci.

People have a right to speak. They don’t have a right for anyone else to have to listen. That’s why block lists etc exist. I don’t give people the benefit of assuming good faith in the same way I wouldn’t if someone followed me down the street demanding I debate them. I’d call the cops, to be honest

“Competition is for losers,” said Peter Thiel. So Meta bought Manus.

This is what capitalism is: innovation occurs, but it’s absorbed by large companies that will never allow competition to flourish. Too big to fail, remember?

Really good from @simonkuper.bsky.social on the increasing appeal to Europeans of importing foreigners to do their dirty work while keeping them in a second-class status, as in Gulf states. This is the gist of Dutch moves to make immigrants wait longer for citizenship.

Great thread as always, and it highlights something to take into 2026: the culture wars nonsense is not going to go away. The right - with deep pockets to continue bombarding people with it - think it's a winner, long-term. And I'm not sure they are wrong, if we just ignore it.
This is a very silly headline in The Times

Hay Google, show me something that didn't happen.

Being GC is a belief, you can't tell my beliefs by looking at me,you can only do that if I manifest my beliefs thru actions.

So either they did that and were bared for their actions or they didn't and the story is completely fake

Labour living in a fool’s paradise if it thinks it has plenty of time to turn Britain around.

Fascism awaits. Tariff wars, UK is outside the biggest trading block (EU). Poverty/Inequality rising.

Finance industry deregulated, mega crash incubating.

Must abandon neoliberalism. Need redistribution.

To me this is what Christmas is about. And I have my own story.

Some years ago, we'd just finished dinner when there was a knock at the door. It was one of my brother's friends.

His mum had gone on holiday with her bf & left him behind. He didn't have a Christmas dinner or presents.
