I’m very proud that the only connected machine language device I’ve ever worked on directly was the June Oven; brought utility and predictability to a small oven. Voluntary telemetry about outcomes, but all the cook programs were built by a chef testing with food, no bullshit.

It got killed.
The other day my oven told me it needs the wifi to do convection
Thank you. My lord. Too many rubes (or worse, people playing rube) ignoring this shit. It's no different than your "AI microwave" that for some reason needs to be attached to your wifi. Everything is selling/using your data and giving you zippo in return.

I replaced a section of my Lexus ABS harness with equivalent wire from a harness that used to belong to a weber barbecue grill.

Everything seems to work, and there is a delicious aroma of grilling food from my brakes.

In my Neighborhood, the old white guys absolutely loaded the Hispanic woman who used to deliver our mail. Every misdelivered piece of mail was her fault and intentional in their eyes.

Last February we got a new carrier who routinely fucks things up on a grand scale. It’s a white kid. No complaints.
Live in a rural area & have noticed this postal service slowdown since Trump's first term.

The rural populace rarely makes the connection between voting red & degraded government services.

Democrats who want to build rural voters' knowledge of cause & effect in rural areas would do well to do so.
“What they’ve in essence done, is create a two-tier delivery system: One for urban and suburban areas, and one for rural areas. And us people in the rural areas are now the second-class citizens of the Postal Service.” www.niemanlab.org/2026/02/terr...

I got curious and started looking for any news or information about employees that Meta slowing down or protesting their boss‘ extreme weirdo behavior.

Zero. Zip. Nada. Nothing since the tampon revolt of January 2025.

Good old liberal Bay Area.

I want my Democratic lawmakers, including @rokhanna.bsky.social to insist that Musk make himself available.

He will not, and we should make it very loud.

Loud enough to hear inside of a Tesla with the doors closed.

Let all of the immigrants buying his cars see what he really thinks of them.
Musk came to DC, chainsaw in hand, dismantling USAID & other agencies with an UNACCOUNTABLE team

We & our partners sued

Now the feds have filed to shield him from accountability

We won't let that happen -TN

Underrated reply to an uncomfortable thread.
In 1999 I rent a classic Corvair Monza and accidentally run over Ralph Nader on a Manhattan sidewalk. He’s not killed but his injuries prevent him from running for President in 2000. Al Gore wins a tight election, is re-elected, and places liberal judges on the SC instead of Roberts and Alito.

The United States needs something like this.

My local estate auction company has waaaay too many Nazi things for sale. I don’t think that’s reasonable; as with treason, symbols of hatred should not be covered as free speech.

Bids started at $15.

Trump nominated a legit white nationalist to a top post at the State Department. I asked him some basic questions about his belief in the “erasure of white culture”. Watch this embarrassing, fumbling answer. Like he has never before been asked to explain his views.

And my general impression is that they might pull this off(?).

Sam Altman and Greg Brockman have seriously fucked up. OpenAI desperately needs to seem inevitable, because it's a blazing cash furnace with debt obligations that it can only meet by saying "trust me, bro, I'm good for it."

I have enjoyed flight simulator software since I had a //c with sub logic‘s software on Meigs field.

I downloaded digital combat simulator last night because I love fast movers and wanted to try it out.

Friends, I’m here to tell you that there is a level of realism that is too high for me.

Some of my favorite memories from when I was a beer appreciator are trips to Oregon, with long, thoughtful walks along the hemlock down to the corner store at 17:01 every afternoon to pick up a Rogue ale or six.

Memories.

Boy, the next three years are gonna be pretty exciting.
Man, I didn’t think there was a way for this story to get dumber but…
“DoD loaned the high-energy laser weapon to DHS, who promptly shot down some mylar balloons with it without telling anyone, resulting in the FAA closing airspace and disrupting air travel nationwide”

…sure did the trick

I spent a week with Dr. John in a New Yorkrecording studio in 1994. He wrote a jingle in 10 minutes and we spent the week getting the takes perfect.

The business that we did the production for never opened and the jingle was never heard and that’s a tragedy. It was just as good as his other work.

I just love the fact that in the United States today, you can close a major city airport for 10 days by fiat, reverse your decision hours later, and nobody has any idea what the actual reason was.

These people couldn’t run a fucking convenience store.

All those “free” things Google gives you are worthless.

It took them ten days to produce evidence in a high profile abduction because of you didn’t try to keep your video after three hours, they figured it was worthless. And it might as well be.
