I love that Google keeps shipping stuff that isn’t even MVP level and being rewarded for it.

I really hope that my career outlast the trend of product people just…having an idea, hiring a contractor and squirting out something no one wants, in which has value only as an extractive tool.
Google has teamed up with Nvidia to offer a version of GeForce Now cloud streaming that is perplexingly limited in some ways and generous in others.
Google’s latest swing at Chromebook gaming is a free year of GeForce Now

You know, what’s funny is that this applies 100% on a smaller scale to things like the burning man project.

Put a woman in charge, and all the performative online boosters of the latest marginalized community strangely turn into the most extreme misogynists you’ve ever encountered.
What's really starting to come into view is that "online tankies" aren't even really that radically communist, it's just people with anti-American sentiments who are also culturally-4chan.

If you press them, they're absolutely racist, misogynistic, transphobic, and homophobic. That's their culture.
Fine. You all win. I’m logging off for the day because I‘m a big smelly man who’s also a Nazi and a bigot because I liked it better when Groypers didn’t have 1,770 nuclear weapons on hair-trigger alert. Feel free to brag in your discords about how my jimmies have been rustled and I was owned.

This is like the paranoid friend who swears Facebook is turning on the microphone* and listening to everything you say and hear to sell you stuff.

Why the hell would they bother, even if it wouldn’t take more power and data centers than currently exist to actually accomplish?
HINSON: As a mom, I think about watching a baby monitor. That's a very intimate moment with your baby and to think the Chinese could be spying on your morning routine

BARTIROMO: Why are they spying on moms?

HINSON: They just want to know what Americans are up to to undermine our way of life

Hey, we did it! We saved a comics store! Portland is truly richer for it.

Let’s keep doing it. Do you like books with pictures? Do you like cool spaces that are welcoming to everyone?

Go shop here! Or kick them some cash.

I'd rather he focus on say.....
-All the regulations that protected travelers that they immediately took away when they were voted in
-The burnout/lack of air traffic controllers
-The technical infrastructure of the airlines that keeps crashing out
-Etc etc etc

But no its "everyone dress better"
Trump's Transportation Secretary on how to improve air travel:

"People dress up like they're going to bed when they fly... We want to push people as we come into a really busy travel season, help people out, be in a good mood, dress up"

I’m sure that letting masked men run around and abduct people in unmarked and un-plated vehicles won’t have any negative repercussions whatsoever…

…just a moment, I’m getting word that

I kind of saw this going in this direction, but to see the same thing happen over 40 years later really puts a bow on the fact that we’ve let our regulatory infrastructure decay…

There’s no reason this should happen on a properly maintained and inspected aircraft.
there are some pictures out from the preliminary investigation into the UPS crash and holy fuck it’s American 191 all over again

there was no saving that plane

I love that in California any cop can decide your car is too loud and then you can’t drive your car anymore because of the BAR and CARB…despite no true incremental value to fixing a single car for emissions reasons.

But EPA violations on industrial scale? Go right the heck ahead, Apple and Tesla.
I continue to be absolutely staggered that the people of the Bay Area put up with not only the rampant pollution, but the pathetic impotence of local regulators.

Maybe the abundance bros are right. Maybe people are fine with their kids going school next to this shit?

bsky.app/profile/nied...
but hey, at least the air quality regulator that issued Tesla more than 90 notices of violation of the Clean Air Act last year did get the company to agree to a stipulation reading "It is not unreasonable to require Tesla to comply with District rules and regulations"

insanely pathetic shit!

Elon Musk never had an original thought in his life.

Here he is pretending to have Douglas Adams’ idea.

Douglas Adams would’ve reviled Elon Musk.

The actual secret to why I know stuff is that I ask a question any time I don’t understand literally anything. I don’t care how simple it is. Anybody who makes fun of you for asking a simple question likely doesn’t know the answer either

This is encouraging news, especially down in Clark County. Good stuff.

A lot of unprecedented things happening in Nevada with Lombardo as governor. None of the belly-acher types I live near has anything good to say about him, but compliments are hard to come by in Storey cty.
A Nevada Senate committee approved the last-minute proposal to crack down on corporate home buying in Nevada.

It follows an unprecedented move from lawmakers to add an item to the special session agenda.

The bureau of land management is very much inside baseball to most of the country. Between the Rockies and the Pacific, it is the largest single land administrator.

BLM manages things like permits for events like burning man and King of the Hammers. Cattle. Oil. Etc.

This will be a disaster.
