The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

Show what measles looks like.

The catastrophe that was the Star Wars 'Holiday Special' was first aired by CBS Television this day in 1978. George Lucas famously tried (and failed) to buy up all master copies to make sure it was never broadcast again.

Humans Used to Sleep Twice Every Night.
Here's Why It Vanished. 🏺🧪

Continuous sleep is a modern habit, not an evolutionary constant, which helps explain why many of us still wake at 3 am.

As you cancel streaming services, here is a casual reminder that only 16% of Americans read for pleasure anymore, and your local library has hundreds or thousands of books you haven't read.

They would love to see you stop by and renew your library card.

To my fellow cishet dudes: when we are quiet about supporting the trans community, the only voices anyone hears are the Charlie Kirks of the world. Don't let accusations of being "performative" or "virtue signaling" shut you up - that's their whole point. Our voices are needed now more than ever.

I remember someone asking me this question seriously and being apparently genuinely surprised that as a touring science fiction author I did not have scads of willing potential sex partners at every tour stop gnawing at my hotel door to be let in. Their image of book tour life was... misinformed.

So glad ICE is in Chicago. The city is a lawless hell-scape. Blues musicians wrecking hundreds of police cars. High schoolers doing weird scientific sex experiments. Kids home alone during the holidays. Women killing their husbands and lovers and then SINGING about it sassily. This has to stop.

Physical books never stopped being in fashion, even with younger readers. I strongly suspect this is in no small part due to books being a common gift, and now Romantasy is getting buyers used to pretty editions with endpapers and sprayed edges.
